weird.
just bought this from a 2nd hand shop in leeds (relics) for 4 quid - FALAA on vinyl, the 92 remastered edition.
wasnt aware this was actually (re-)released on vinyl - thought it was purely a cd thing!?
it has a different code to the original: MR571L, a black sticker on the front saying "digitally remastered 1992" as per the cd version. and a slightly different sleeve design: the cover is more or less the same design, but the artwork doesn't have that white outline. its just red on a black background.
also, the lettering seems a little bigger than on the original release.
IMHO it doesn't look as nice as the original - it looks cheaper
my copy doesn't have an inner sleeve - just a plain paper sleeve.
anyone know any more about this? should it have a picture sleeve inside?
i seem to recall someone a while ago talking about a copy of FALAA with this red artwork - did anything get resolved there?

Only the original UK/DE releases (i.e. non-remastered versions) have the inner, some brasilian releases seem to have that inner as well ...Quiff Boy wrote:weird.

I remember seeing the vinyl in Andys Records many moons ago.
Didn't they do the same thing for Gift as well? I'm sure I remember seeing that with a remastered label on it as well...

Yeh, I have that one too. Bought it the week it was released, completely unaware of the mess East West had made of it, with the very same "distinguishing features" (if that's the right phrase) you've noted.
Ugly, ain't it? A real case of cutting production costs to maximize profit, and symptomatic of the shoddy way East West have treated the band (and it's fans), particularly with regard to this (actually very fine) LP.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Ooh missed this. Does that sticker add to the value then? I paid £8 for my copy (with sticker).Quiff Boy wrote:...complete with the "pay no more than..." sticker shown here:

i've only ever seen a couple that have the inner "dollar bill" lyric sheet thingy though - i've currently got 2 copies and one of mine has it, one hasn't. and i gave one to lars a while ago that didn't have it.

You had me going for a while then. I assumed that had you mentioned the sticker for a reason other than plugging your web-designs
Anyway, I don't think I'll be able to sell my copy (even if I wanted to which I don't) without giving the sleeve a good clean first. There seems to be a residue of white powder on it that looks as though it's been licked off

Aah! I think I know what that might be...markfiend wrote:residue of white powder
It sounds like a bogus job some blokes run off on his back shift at the printworks when the managers weren't looking, the white powder is ink dryer that has been slightly overbombed, to get the job off the press and hidden ASAP.
I could be blowin' smoke tho.

Sisters Head buys said album. One sad, crazed night, in an altered state thinks 'Sisters, white powder! WTF'?...
