What a lovely sunny day

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

to be stuck in a boiling hot office. :urff:

Why do we do it, folks? Is there anyone in the entire world that actually likes their job?

Edit to remove one too many actuallys

I'm pretty happy with my work, at least there's nothing else I could realistically get paid for that would be better. It's just a shame I have to do it 5 days a week instead of just 1 or 2.

Me 3. Although I have very good air conditioning

It's soooo gorgeous out, perfect excuse for a lazy afternoon in a nice beer garden with a few ice cold ciders.

Work, bah!

Anyway, I'm gonna hit the hot concrete for an hour or so, and watch the world enjoying itself.

Air conditioning? Who he?

Because our office is on the ground floor, we have roll-down steel shutters inside the windows, that warm up nicely in the morning sun and, even when rolled up, act as wonderfully efficient radiators all through the day.

Because I need the money and for no other reason. I've never liked any job I've had, and incidentally, none of them have ever had air con either, but several have had windows that you are not allowed to open..

Oh yes, I feel the spirit is with us now...

But if I start I won't stop.

I need my faith restored, there must be one of the brothers and sisters on here who actually like what they do rather than just (and only just) being able to stand it?

So I can hope for the same one day?

Thought not.

actually there are no health and safety regulations relating to high temperatures. there is a legal minimum temperature for workplaces but no maximum. i consider myself something of an expert having suffered 34c in our (still!) un-air-conditioned office last summer...

Thanks for the legal advice Richey.

I can envisage the scene:

ME:
We need air-conditioning.

BOSS:
Go f*ck.

ME:
But there's Health And Safety regulations.

BOSS:
I don't care. You're not having air conditioning. It costs a fortune.

[Later]

BOSS:
You said there were health and safety regulations about air conditioning Mark. Well there aren't. You tw@t. Now get back to work and stop whining.
