Sounds Magazine

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I recall mention being made of Mr. W. Hussey reviewing Floodland in Sounds Magazine and "childishly accepting the opportunity to give it a good pasting."

I'd be VERY interested to read that, but haven't found it on the web yet. Have any of you seen it anywhere, or could some kind soul scan it in?

Ta.
Very little of what you believe to be true is actually the case.

Sorry.

I seem to remember it was more an exercise in alliteration, rather than logic or critique.

And I recall the phrase "dodgy German fiend", but apart from that...

Whatever it was that I read (which was at least semi-official) definitely referred to Floodland and not Gift but since I've not seen it myself I'm only working on information received and half-remembered.
