I've been contemplating upgrading my phone for a little while now, so far the Nokia 5100 (it has a torch!) and the Nokia N-Gage (Games, multimedia, etc) seem to be my favourites. Has anyone had any experiences with either of these handsets?

i've got a nokia 6600.
its symbian 60 - like the n-gage, and plasy most n-age games. it doesnt have as much ram as the n-gage though (i gather) so some dont work.
i dont really play games on mine though, apart from bombjack and puzzle bobble while sat on teh bus
the 6600 is a good phone. i like it.

I have a 3300. Plays games, plays mp3s. It weighs about three quarters of a ton though, so I'm thinking of changing it.

the only thing I'm worried about with the N-Gage is that I'll get bored of it after a few months and then I'll be stuck with a rather bulky phone for 2 years until it's upgrade time again

That's pretty much what I found with the 3300...hallucienate wrote:the only thing I'm worried about with the N-Gage is that I'll get bored of it after a few months and then I'll be stuck with a rather bulky phone for 2 years until it's upgrade time again

Motorola V66e or 'Batfone' as the missus calls it. Only tri-band available through Orange. nice & compact, easy to hook up to the laptop & not fancy but bulky colour screen or tacky camera nonsense.

oh, and the one thing I don't want on a phone is a camera, my Digicam works fine for me.

Mrs markfiend has a Nokia 6100. Colour display, polyphonic (midi file) ringtones, etc. etc. No camera or anything. Good phone.

I'm with Richey. I remember when there were big red phones dotted around the place, and if you were out and you needed to call someone you just .... called them.
Now I have a perfectly functional old Nokia 1487BC or something. It does little more than make and receive calls, which is pretty well perfect.
Sometimes I can be quite unnecessarily smug about a relatively gadget-free life.
