Rome

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

The last two times I've been to Italy, I've used these fine people:

http://www.guestinitaly.com/

They're jolly good! See what takes your fancy. I couldn't tell you which places to avoid cos I've never really wandered around the back alleys after dark. I guess price and proximity to the centre/ metro are most important. The area round the train station used to be the prime site for cheap pensione's for student railcarders. It did show though. Last time we stayed near the Vatican. Not too touristy but still within easy travelling/ good walking distance of the main attracttions. Don't forget to take some sensible shoes.

You're welcome. Throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain for me.

<Struggling to resist the temptation to blow my recently increased credit-limit from those nice people at Mint on a surprise treat for Pam's 50th in September> :innocent:
