No you don't.
One: I use active speakers, thus reducing interference to almost nil on a -4dB scale.Quiff Boy wrote:
but dont you get static or interference from the flight sim area in your studio monitor mixes though?
surely, at the very least, you would get a quite serious "reflection" of sound, resulting in a poorly balanced final mix??![]()

Second of all, the flightsim comp and the midi-editing comp have two totally independent stream cables. One is sponsored by Electrabel, the other by Nuon. Don't you like the whole 'privatising' thing? (except for railways, peeps!).

You didn't answer his question about "reflection".Izzy HaveMercy wrote:One: I use active speakers, thus reducing interference to almost nil on a -4dB scale.Quiff Boy wrote:

And who're you calling geek?Secondly, horizontally orientated monitors positioned on the meter-bridges of mixing desks may look nice but acoustically it is not a good idea for the following reasons:
Mounting the monitor vertically increases the distance and angle of the off-axis reflection from the console surface. This reduces the comb filtering caused by the reflection, as the reflected sound level will be lower in level.
