Karin. Maybe you can explain that one to me? I'm sure you're all bloody NME readers in your spare time. I'm off to scag some soup off the winos under the arches. They make much more sense to me.
And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

How can you possibly compare disposable ephemera like the above to the mighty reflection of our present/future culture that is 2000AD? OK they do occasionally print some utter, utter rubbish, but it's all about trying out someone elses perspective after all.Red Sunsets wrote:just another of those things like:

Which is a lot more than some, so-called "proper" literatura can offer. Honestly, if you do think that comics are just for kids/people with a limited attention span who like pretty pictures (ok, I admit that one ), try something like a graphic novel. I can totally recommend "Preacher" (Ennis/Dillon/Fabry) just for the black humour alone.
Try it, you might like it

Ooh, I could be tempted...CorpPunk wrote:Or might I suggest, as a stand-alone graphic novel, Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns? Written in the late '80s, it's become a new classic.
Come on Red, you know you want to...
Apparently, the new film is going to be more in the Miller sort of vein

Wha'? How are they supposed to do the bitter-old-man Batman if he's played by Christian "Disney Gone Wrong" Bale?!Mrs. Snowey wrote:Ooh, I could be tempted...CorpPunk wrote:Or might I suggest, as a stand-alone graphic novel, Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns?
