Stupid question...

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Ok, my ignorance is showing here, but...

Who is This Corrosion about? :von: said something that it was about someone dying for their ridiculous idea of rock n roll. Yep, I guess I'm really think headed, because I don't get it.

Edited- *thick* headed.

I was under the impression a lot of it is directed at a certain Mr. Hussey? :innocent:

Yes, it was originally tried out at the time of the Sisterhood project (but was held over until Floodland, probably because it was clear it would make a stonking first single). It doesn't fit into the general themes of Floodland as such, but does fit into the general theme of Gift (which is, screw you, Wayne).

Blasting razors is dangerous. Make sure you watch from a safe distance, and always keep dogs and children inside.

Id like to think that Andrew has more intelligence then to just sing about sex 100% of the time.

Do you think?

Surely that's one of the big reasons to be a Sisters fan? The multiple levels of meaning to the lyrics?

That one is good, but there should be one sitting on a stool that laughs, clutches its stomache, and falls off the stool. Just a thought :von:

Although even if you are it doesn't necessarily stop you appreciating the finer points. ( no fnarrs please).

Not all of us who like the, er, visual aspect have one track minds...

Sex on its own would not be enough to maintain my interest over all these years. The songs have to reach other bits of my brain too.

I always thought TC was a reply to "Wake" by the m*****n.

Wayne singing "Wake for you my preciouuuuus" followed by AE singing "gimme the ring"
