OH for f**** sake

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

nope, no usernames on tees. sorry.

to quote ferris: "i've said it before and i'll say it again" ;)

having usernames on tee-shirts is not feasable unless you want those crappy iron-on prints that crack and come off in the 1st wash. and to be perfectly honest i'm not prepared to put the heartland "brand" against anything so shoddy ;)

the reason for this that for tee-shirt prints to be good quality the ink needs to be applied via a process called silk-screening, whereby a "screen" is made up with the design on and a batch of tees are run through the process of having the ink squirted through the design on the screen onto the tee material underneath.

the end resut is much better quality and lasts much longer. iron-on designs are only really meant for those one-off cheesy stag/hen night teeshirts that pi$$ed up slappers in yates' wine lodge seem to like wearing.

screens cost about £15 each to make. i had to get 2 done - one for the front design & one for the back.

this is why it works out much cheaper to have a lot done at a time - once you have your screen made then its only cost of the tee that you have to worry about.

the good thing about silk-screens is that printers usually keep hold of them indefinitely (the people that did the HL tees certainly do), so that if i was to get a second batch made i could use the same screens, thus they'd be slightly cheaper (not much though - i didnt really take any margin on the 1st batch and 30 quid off the cost of getting, say, 30 done wont make a huge overall difference to the end price).

unless y'all want a completely different design this time, in which case i would want to get a similar quantity to last time done (~50) and it would cost about the same as the last one.

clear? good. phew. ;)

so, no usernames on tees, ok?

unless emilystrange's friend wants to create 50 different screens for free  :innocent:

now usernames on mugs is a different thing altogether. ;D

myself and mr blast are currently investigating the cost and practicality of printing off a stack of designs onto transfers that i can then apply to some bulk-purchased coffee mugs (thank god for asda! :o )

nothing definite is planned, but if i'm printing them off myself i can probably adapt each design to incorporate a username. note: thats a big IF ;)

so now you know ;D

You could put people's avatars on the mugs too.

Only for those who don't change them every week, obviously. :innocent:

A Heartland branded mug I can live with. I'll pass on the apron though. And the HL branded furry dice and the windscreen caslon antique his'n'hers names sticker. :von:

@ QB: You have created a monster. You should be marketing this in Japan and then you'd be in your des-res in Harrogate in no time. :innocent:

Surely the strict criteria for such a a HL branded item dictates that one actually has something (as you so eloquently put it) to actually 'pop out?'
