The pre-gig drinking should take place earlier at Brother Tuck - maybe more like 17, as people might wanna get to the venue when doors open at 18.30.

Correct me if I'm wrong, locals, but I think the walk from this pub to the venue takes about 20 minutes in total?

Sounds...

...great to drink a couple at Brother Tuck before. Where can you find info about the event? I mean like pre-band and such things...

1. Vons yelping, squealing and mumbling is turning more and more into singing.

2. Bens worst Eddie Van Halen impersonations were really toned down.

3. Chris Rocks!

4. Time to take away Flood 1 and 2.

5. FAFAA sounded fresher then in a long time.

6. Where is Summer??

7. Chris Rocks!!

9. I Was Wrong looked really boring on the paper, but was really good, I am surprised.

10. With only 2 "new" songs they are really risking becoming a nostaliga act. I mean AC DC plays more new songs.

11. Great sound, great light, lots of smoke.

12. Von did not smoke and drank nothing but water.

12. During Top Nite Out Von stood by Nurse and checked his mail.

13. Chris Rocks!!

14. Floorshow and Marian and Arms were really damn good!

Got to talk to Chris and he told me it was gastroenteritis or some such bug. They do feelbetter now (thanks to the doctors) but now it´spreading across the crew.

Nevertheless they played a very good show in Oslo, and an even better one (full setlist) tonight in Stockholm.

If you go see them anywhere, be nice with them.

Good night, Eva

"I Was Wrong" was not played. "Something Fast" was, though.

Set list OTTOMH:

Crash & Burn
Ribbons
Flood I
Train/Detn Boulevard
Alice
Anaconda
Floorshow
Marian
Susanne
Arms
Dominon/Mother Russia
F&L&LA
Flood II
This Corrosion
----------
Lucretia
Top Nite Out
Something Fast
----------
Vision Thing
Temple of Love

The order is not correct, the songs are, though. Review to follow. Good fun, in all. Better than 2006.

I realize more and more I should have changed my position totally - where I was, like 7 meters back in front of Ben, the sound wasn't too good, low and with the Doktor's bass drowning much of the guitars and voice. Improved along the gig but, having read reviews about great sound, I was probably in some strange interference field too...

Anyway, we never went to the aftershow because there was a long queue then, so we went to the next place - and there were Ben, Chris, the "merch guy", Dave the guitar guy and another crew member(?) I didn't recognize. Chris in excellent mood throughout the evening!

Hi to all I met, now I am really tired!

The sound tonight was TERRIBLE, really bad!!
What the f**k was the problem?
I could not hear Andrews voice.
Backing vocals from the other guys sounded louder.
Big disappointment, because I love the Sisters.
They where better last time I saw them in Berlin with the Vision Thing tour.

and videos in 1024 x 768 (Crash And Burn + Temple Of Love) here (until tomorrow or so):

All in all, a good gig, but it did suffer somewhat from what sounded like an undersized and inadequate PA though. More oomph and clarity would have made this an ace gig! Really good versions of Lucretia, Flood II and Floorshow.

Just back from an overpriced aftershow that ended just as it was starting to take off :( That aside, I really liked the gig. Crowd was up for it and we were squashed together like sardines at the front. The sound seemed a bit out of balance to me, but I was on the left this time, so maybe that made a difference. The band looked well, so hopefully the bug has cleared up now

And where have you been for the last 19 years that you would expect them to sound now like they did then? :?

Sorry about that, I must have been more tired then I thought.

I stood in three different places during the show, and in front of the stage the sound was bad ( as usual with the Sisters), but further back it was really good. More guitars then I am used to, and way better then 2006. This was as good as they get nowadays. Nothing to complain about except the lack of new songs.

Waiting for The Next One.
The show was great, the sound quality of Andrew's vocal was not. Kind of muffled.
Thank you Yggdrasil for the pics! I agree, Floorshow was awesome.

I was in the back just in front of the mixing desk. The sound was terrible. Heard no bass or guitar, so I had to guess from the drum track what song was being played. And I didn't hear all the drums either. Mostly bass drum actually. Vocals sounded "few and far between". Under-sized PA must have been it, I could have a conversation with my friends without raising my voice.
It's my first time seeing the sisters. Please tell me they're usually better than this! :(

larstangmark, I had about the same sound impression as you and can just say they've sounded better at all other sisters concerts I've seen. So yes, you should definitely give them another chance!

Although there's an unpleasant tendency to bash the band for inadequate sound, I suspect the PA is guilty as often as not - and then by extension whoever's running the desk and should be doing a better job of compensating for it... :?
