This venue is smaller than I remember from my student Friday indie nights, far too small for this gig. Jihad is sounding good though from here.

What the hell was going on with the sound in Leeds tonight? No end of feedback and ridiculously quiet. Disappointed for the first time ever.

That was one of the best Sisters gigs in years. The sound was great from where l was. The band and audience in great form. I'd say even better than the birthday gigs. Very happy!

Flew from Barcelona today to go to this gig with best mate for 30+ years who got me into the sisters.
We all get older, but great gig and great crowd.

I actually had to go look at the FB page because I left the gig tonight thinking 'well that will silence those that list the usually litany of sins.' Egg on my face now. Instead there's People saying they walked out it was so bad?
Some one should seriously do a study to figure out how such extreme contrasting views 9f the same gig occur. And clearly it's not just expectation as from reading on in the thread Jo says how she'd been at the birthday gigs...
As i said on FB - for me tonight was better...

i managed to be stage right near the front. (in front of the PA stack, which is not always the best place to be) the sound was very good. in fact its the best ive heard the sisters for a long time. including Von's vocals. it was more noticeable the amount of words Mr E forgot. i only recall one bad feed back moment, when he was crouched down near one of the lights. the lights were very good this time too. big crowd , more than last time they were there, it seemed. plenty of audience participation. yet another night i went home wanting more..on the whole i would say 8/10. i genuinely enjoyed the evening.

Another great gig. More bite and energy than Glasgow. Still a bit sloppy on the lyrics. I wonder how Eldritch's voice is coping, he really went for it last night!
Roll on Nottingham!

and he lit a cigarette on stage !!!!!!!!!! ( and then sloped off down the steps at the side to finish it, i may have caught that on camera, i shall check later......)

A slightly more sober analysis of last night:
Salvation "sound-check" at the Fenton: I arrived not long before the band started, a rather frazzled-looking Danny greeting me with "Are you coming up? Because we're starting now."
After a couple of songs, I nipped downstairs for a pint, ended up jawing with loads of folks ("I love that you've gone to the effort Mark, but you do just look like a goth in a Hawaiian shirt!" - thanks Dave.) I finally made it back upstairs for the Sallies' last number.
Then we all rolled down the hill to the Poly (ahem... Beckett University) for the main event. Having to "collect my ticket on the door" turned out to consist of having my name read off a list.
The support band Black Moth were unexpected. Think early Sabbath with a female vocalist. I didn't pay them much attention to be honest, I was more interested in the bar and the T-shirts.
But by the time the intro music (SSV! very funny) started, I was more-or-less in front of the stacks on Ben's side of the stage.
The Sisters rocked hard, and genuinely seemed to be having a good time. There were some odd song choices (1959, Jihad) but they really pulled off a stormer with Jihad in particular.
I had to beat somewhat of a retreat during Alice but even a little further back, the crowd were really getting into it.

Cracking night of socialising, meeting up with Leeds finest (that's you guys, NOT the band), drinking too much Duvel pre-show, and g/f's first Sisters gig which she thoroughly enjoyed. Personally I thought it was a bit rough and raggedy casual pub-rock. The pit seemed to lack something though was certainly fun, and the whole thing seemed a fairly sedate and quiet affair. Conversations on the train back to Bingley afterwards revealed folk either thought 'hmmm' or 'WOAAAHHHH!!!!', no change there then.
There will only ever be one place where it's entirely normal to be having a bit of a boing one minute, the next you're being lifted to the heavens by a very fine and very tall Belgian. Oh yeah, and Mr Catalyst, if you read this, you can assured of the fact that said very tall Belgian is NOT a bully or trouble in any way shape or form. Not even close.
Have immense fun with the rest of the tour folks, band and all, I'll reassess my thoughts on last nights gig once I've heard the bootleg, no doubt it was a blinder and I was simply too banjoed to appreciate it at the time, seems to be the way.

It was indeed, a very good night...I got home at 4.30am, having enjoyed the gig & then transcended on Mojos & Brotherhood. I was privileged to have watched the band whilst stood at the side of a really lovely girl who kept plying me with red wine from her handbag...my head did not appreciate the same privilege this morning.
The sound was good and if you were polite enough to excuse your way to the front, you could see everything, it was jammed at the back.
I enjoyed meeting some very nice people & particularly seeing my good friend Mr Markfiend on the mend.
Bless you all...😜
