Genuine question, having had a go at copying the house MR style, why haven't Warner given this an MR cat number? Feels like a missed opportunity
Possibly because it wasn't released on Merciful Release. Did the 2006 remasters have MR numbers?

They've got the MR logo on both sides of sleeve and all 4 sides of vinyl. I'd have thought that'd be OK for the remasters as they were reproducing the original artwork but do they actually own MR as well as the back catalogue? :/

That's nuts.
I suppose it shows that if the Sisters out out a record, it'd sell. Like, even if it wasn't amazing, it'd still sell.

These are vinyl sales though aren't they? Nice to see as regards being a fan, but relatively small in the scheme of things. Only a proper new full spectrum release would be a true guide. I still have time and am 'keeping the faith'.

And no 5 at the official chart for Vinyl albums:
https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/v ... ums-chart/
...and no 13 at total album sales (all medias I guess)
https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/a ... les-chart/
Wonder what position if it wasn't limited and/or cheaper (like £25).
Quite amazing actually.
(Go on, release a new album now thank you.)

Aren't there only 4000 copies of the RSD vinyl though? And selling (presumably slightly fewer than) that 4000 got it to number 13 in the full albums chart? Geez they're not kidding that the music business is dead.

True Mr F. I look at my sons, both of whom attend more gigs than me nowadays, ranging from pubs all the way to enormodromes and festivals, but neither of them buy music in physical formats. They actually laugh at both their parents for doing so. The youngest's new car, which arrived last month, has no means of playing tunes physically either. That effin' generation gap has really hit/bit.

4000 worldwide, so maybe not more than a couple of thousands for UK?
So yeah, the business is dead. But just the thought of Sisters charting nowadays is kinda cool and shows for something I guess, and some mighty competetion on the list as well.

I see it as a measure of success rather than "wealth".
But we know what matter most.

etc..the year James /Sisters were on at Reading it was all about those " come on baby light my fag " shirts. As James were proud of the fact that they sold more t's than records i thought that was funny.

There were a few bands in that bracket back at that specific time, and it was amusing to remember and list them.

I think NMA could stake a claim to carry that particular torch nowadays. Mind you they also record and release music at regular intervals.
