The Heartland Effect

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

My turn to bring this thread bounding back up the board.

Considering I'm still quite new to this place compared with so many of you lot it's really helped to read your offers of support. It's going to take a while before I've worked things through (back to whatever the heck came before) but knowing this place is here is a massive help.

Thank you, unreservedly.

Well, by your own manner, understanding and generosity you've made yourself part of this community.

I'm still convinced you stole my f**king hat, though...

I had a full dose of cheering up through the cables and the underground.
Some of you yet have no faces for me, but you made my day, you and a friendly lot of Poison Door´s inhabitants!
That was my my most cheerfull birthday in a whole couple of years.

The last invaders of my local allies just left, and I simply am slightly happy today.
Virtually happy.
Nope: Really happy!

You mean I'm not alone in disliking Harry Potter?!?!?
I don't necessarily agree with everything I think.

He's good for infantile toilet humour. "I'm off to Harry Potter's Chamber of Secrets to make a Philosophers Stone in the Goblet of Fire" etc.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

I wouldn't say that I disliked the films, it's just that they didn't "do anything" for me. I found them mildly entertaining, but not memorable in the least; I didn't care one whit for the characters, and I'm not really interested in finding out what happens to them. I've never read the books; maybe that's part of it..?

That about sums it up. They're entertainingly diverting hokum, not much else (although that can be a good thing sometimes).
