no no no..don't do it--I saw Lydia Lunch and Exene Cervenka doing spoken word one night in Glasgow way back in 1995---I would rather poke my eyes out with a sh#ty stick than see her doing that again

Alright, gents and gentesses. My good friend Mr Denbigh has advised me to head to the gig, and it's part of Missus Dark's birthday present, so I'll be going. If only to hang around at the bar and complain "they don't play Sister Ray any more..."
If anyone wants to meet up earlier in the day (Quiffy, Mr B, wibblywobbly, ah'm looking at yous!) then send me a PM, and we can go for a few jars. Not sure about beverages in town, but if you're up for a wee subway ride, The Three Judges outside Kelvinhall station is a damn fine establishment. In town, Sleazys is an equally good plan

I am very tempted to celebrate this fifth anniversary of my first trip north of the border, the poster for which I took from the venue the following morning and still forms the centre piece of my Sisters shrine. Especially as I missed this year's shows in Leeds due to an unusually successful attempt at maintaining my New Year's Resolution to abstain from my three drugs of choice: nicotine, alcohol and nostalgia.
Yes, the June heat has melted my resolve.

And you know that she's half crazy but that's why you want to be there.

So, not sure whether many folk here at all are into the bleepy-stompy EBM tunes, but there's a clubnight called Cryotec which plays that sort of thing, on the first Thursday of the month.
Turns out they're going to see the Sisters too, and will be doing an unofficial aftershow party. And for a change, there will be some goth, provided by DJ Catnip. i.e. me.
So aye, if I don't hang around much after the gig's over, you'll find me behind the decks at the Classic Grand, playing some goth choons (most likely there will be nothing bleepy in my set, don't worry). But as is my policy, no full-length This Corrosion. Or The Smiths.

We actually put a notice up next to the decks at Danse Macabre listing the forbidden artists (The Smiths, Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein), and forbidden songs (full-length This Corrosion, full-length Blue Monday, Love Will Tear Us Apart, and Siouxsie's version of Dear Prudence), with a note saying that there ARE other songs by these bands.
