What would you think if the next Sisters LP was all covers? Some of the covers have been pretty inspired over the years - and even sound good on record, not just live. Just a thought.
(and if so, got any suggestions of what you think would work, or you'd just like to hear?)

Guys, I have an idea, what if we flip through the best performances of the new songs in years (as close to a studio version as possible), make a compilation out of them, add the Suzanne recording from the sisters website on top of it and name the whole bunch something fitting the sisters' bootleg titles. Now that'd make a stonking new album, I guess =>

'Seven Shades of Shiva.' I mean it's not like we're worried what the record companies'll think.

Would like it to include a Vision-Thing level of production on their cover of Kylie's 'Confide In Me'... which ain't gonna ever happen!

Hell, I'd like to hear most of the early independent stuff re-issued with "a Vision Thing level of production" !! Imagine how good some of that stuff could sound if it had some balls in the production (eg Body and Soul to mention only one example)

One song I have long thought of as an IDEAL Sisters cover is 'Rhinestone Cowboy'. I'd pay good money to hear the girls play a version of that, live or otherwise. There might be a bit too much irony in the idea of Herr Emporer singing "I've been walking these streets so long, singing the same old song" though for it to become anything more than wishful thinking..

I've been half-tempted to record the thing myself out of boredom and admittedly a bit of fanboy-ism, but I have too many projects to track or mix to have time to do a record of Sisters covers and can't really pull off a passable :von: . Though my drumming is terrible, at least I wouldn't have to hire a drummer  .

I have no idea why I love this band enough to even contemplate that save for there's something about the songs that really does it for me.

You can't have "Next" as a title, it has already been used by Alex Harvey

Jacques Brel, actually ;D

BTW, first live band I ever saw was The Sensational Alex Harvey Band supporting Mott the Hoople at Glasgow's Green's Playhouse (mere months away from being relabeled The Apollo) in 1973 ;D

Body and Soul's pefect as it is. VT production would ruin it just as it turned Temple Of Love into a mindless rock chug.

I meant LP title not track title

I saw SAHB at Stoke City Football Ground as support to Yes in 1975

agreed, all the early stuff would sound TERRIBLE with Vision Thing's level of non-production

I am also currently just recording the damn thing myself.
But like The Sisters, I am easily distracted by more pertinent and entertaining things.
That being said, I do have the backing tracks (drums, bass, synths) already recorded for all the unreleased tracks including covers.
I have also completed 6 tracks already with guitars - still need the vocals.
I see how easy it is to just let these things just sit and percolate though...

The link POSS RANSOMWARE still works. I'm downloading it myself as I don't appear to have it unless I did and then mislaid it.
