That was awesome. No surprises - solid setlist (same as Notts ? ) Andrew in a very jolly mood - joking, flirting, forgot lyrics, forgot to sing, refused to sing. The usual. And the atmosphere was superb. Must admit this being one of the best gigs I have been to.

Nice to know. But lyrics skipping, starting too early / late with the choruses... am i the only one who thinks: 'YOU HAD ONE JOB!'

For me Leeds was the best of the shows I saw (Glasgow & London). But still a good gig. Not sure what happened in 1959. Something distracted him (maybe flash photography) but I couldn't really see what.

I think it was the lighters being waved in the air that prompted his "Don't do that!" remark midway through 1959.EmmaPeelWannaBe wrote:Not sure what happened in 1959. Something distracted him (maybe flash photography) but I couldn't really see what.

I think Ben and Chris' guitar sounds work really well on some of the earliest songs (Valentine, the current version of Body Electric) - after last night's gig I was idly thinking how great it would be to hear all the songs from the Reptile House EP played by them.
Edit to add link to miprs4's video of Body Electric from last night.

Some random thoughts from last night;
Set list had a really strong opening, first 6-7 songs were brutal
He looked delighted with the prospect of a dirty bomb
Not singing 1959 was a bit pissy
That's a lot of fuss for a light not working
The crowd, the band, and the singer all appear to be singing in different keys but they're definitely all audible
Its all got a bit panto but that's fine with me
4 years is too long between gigs and there were too many people I didn't manage to find or catch up with (Sunday night trains, bleurgh)

I seem to remember that the same guy filmed the whole gig last time at the Roundhouse (2011?), put a clip up on Youtube and offered the full video for sale.czuczu wrote:Looks like the whole gig was filmed - https://youtu.be/IVo3mOWdHJg

Are all "bombastic hits" a bit reworked, more aligned with the album versions? Lucretia, Dominion, This Corrosion..? Didn't even notice this from the Tienen recordings.
I think I was right next to the guy who filmed the Lucretia segment. Gotta say, it was a really good experience - great sound and very friendly vibe down the front. Although I was taken down a peg or two for by some hardcore fan for saying the famously disastrous London show was at Koko when of course it was at the Astoria. Oh, silly me... but then utter respect to the Sisters fans who follow every tour across the country and beyond. I thought Von was in good form despite the predicted grumps - he's smiling a lot these days, though the effect is unsettling ["Don't do that"... was he displeased by the ciggie lighters held aloft during the abortive '1959'?]. Overall, I was left with the impression of a vital, contemporary band rather than the tribute act I feared they may become. Good to see some young fans in the audience freaking out at seeing the Girls for the first time. Proper gig.

Yup, they were really going for it. I also thought that Body Electric (same gig) was phenomenal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKc7DoU6bek
Especially the flanger on Chris' guitar
They seem to be in top form, don't they? Or is it my side view biasedlazarus corporation wrote:Yup, they were really going for it. I also thought that Body Electric (same gig) was phenomenal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKc7DoU6bek

I also recorded the whole gig... and if something good can be made of it, no one will need to spend a penny to see it - just like in the case of the previous vids.lazarus corporation wrote:I seem to remember that the same guy filmed the whole gig last time at the Roundhouse (2011?), put a clip up on Youtube and offered the full video for sale.czuczu wrote:Looks like the whole gig was filmed - https://youtu.be/IVo3mOWdHJg

The sound quality's not great on this video of Lucretia from the Roundhouse, but I think it dispels any notion (from the Glasgow gig) that he doesn't like being filmed!

If someone could dub a good copy of the audio on top of this video then it would be fantastic!
