awww...i remember that one! was a full moon too, i wore a white blouse and stood right up front at the security barrier. in a square where people living there were watching from their balconies and even children on their parent's necks in the crowd! what an awesome gig that was! the whole memory of the night until early hours still fresh in my mind.Being645 wrote: as to yesterday's gigs, they were all wonderful. also my first, i think, sister spotting Si and the merch guy lounging in the foyer of the place i/we had booked for the night. i was checking in, leaving a note for another HL'er at reception when my phone went off, a text message and had More i think as that ringtone when Si passed a remark "good song" i looked up, saw them all chilling there, smiled and got very shy!

Like this one? https://sisterswiki.org/Manna_From_Heavenczuczu wrote:Yep, the Leamington gig was all killer, no filler
If someone were to share a recording of that I would be most grateful!
or the SISTERS TUBE SPA vid?
I think, and my memory may be dodgy, that bananacamel shared their source here but it has a fairly lengthy romantic interlude/loads of chatty crowd nonsense that kind of breaks the spell!Being645 wrote:Like this one? https://sisterswiki.org/Manna_From_Heavenczuczu wrote:Yep, the Leamington gig was all killer, no filler

So, a different source to that one

And video? I've got the above mentioned ~4GB or some way smaller MP4 vid of the complete show, if you want one.
Oh hell, yes... that was absolutely goosebumps ... I'm still happy that I've been there ... ... also fully enjoyed the slow Body Electric ... ...czuczu wrote:https://youtu.be/qfG-Q7jNT1M

I was at Leamington and you are right, it was a brilliant gig. A real turning point after some so-so years/tours. Hadn't realised it was 8 years ago though. Strange feeling that the gigs that seem relative recent in my head span a timescale that is longer than it took the band to get from releasing The Damage Done to putting out Floodland (and all that happened in between)ROBBIE wrote:I went to both of these and they were both brilliantly gigs.Being645 wrote:3rd August is a day of more recent concerts

Any memories of how Chris was at the show? Any signs of 'first night' nerves? He seems so confident in his role (borderline frontman at times) all these years later, but as the new boy back then, was a deer caught in the headlights?MadameButterfly wrote:wow! the memories of this gig! our beloved doc P RIP and meeting you awesome people for the first time! 13 years ago ... we have definately left a footprint in TSOM history, together. always a party with you HL ers!Being645 wrote:

The 7th August has in the past seen a 1984 gig the Exit Club in Chicago (https://sisterswiki.org/Tue,_07-Aug-1984), and a big show at the 2010 Mera Luna festival (https://sisterswiki.org/Sat,_07-Aug-2010). Much is known about one of them, next to nothing about the other!

Chris was brilliant! No signs of nerves or being a deer caught in the headlights...one thing Chris does on stage is just play his role which i have found to be very professional. TSOM delievered such an awesome gig that night i can bet anyone who was there will agree with. Chris is just a very kind open bloke that helped many of us in those days get signed tickets from the band members. i love Chris...he is awesome.Mothra wrote:Any memories of how Chris was at the show? I completely agree! Have had the pleasure of meeting him a few times over the years, and seeing him playing a tiny sweatbox of a venue with the Eureka Machines within walking distance of my flat, as well on bigger stages with The Sisters, EM and with Ginger Wildheart. I think most on here agree that he breathed life into The Sisters when he joined up.
There's some great photos from the Near Meth Experience gig on the Wiki (https://sisterswiki.org/Near_Meth_Exper ... e_gig_2005), maybe it's the lack of sunglasses and full gig production, but I think he looks more concentrated than he does when rushing around the huge stages. I know if I was in his position*, my legs would be jelly, and the entire gig would be carried out to a mantra of 'Don't f**k This Up. Don't f**k This Up'
*I am not angling for a job. I cannot play an instrument, work a drum machine/MacBook, sing in tune or keep in time

1998 Neerpelt Eurorock Festival (https://sisterswiki.org/Sat,_08-Aug-1998)
2005 Lokerse Festival (https://sisterswiki.org/Mon,_08-Aug-2005)

This one was first due to take place at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and then moved to the Mammoth Events Centre.

Only one known Sisters gig on the 9th August, way back in 1984. This one is missing from my collection if anyone is willing to share it
New York Ritz, supporting Black Flag. Scary stuff! Henry Rollins refers to the show in his book 'Back in the Van'. He doesn't like the band, but gives them credit for standing up to a Black Flag audience.

10th August
One cancelled show on the tour that I'm bored of referring to (1991!)
Gigs that did take place in
2002: Mera Luna Festival (https://sisterswiki.org/Sat,_10-Aug-2002)
2005: X-Tra, Limmathaus, Zurich (https://sisterswiki.org/Wed,_10-Aug-2005)
2017: Rock Oz'Arènes Festival 2017, Avenches, Vaud, Switzerland (https://sisterswiki.org/Thu,_10-Aug-2017)

They do like a bit of sunshine!
..and there was very little of that at Mera Luna in 2002. Fond memories of all our tent pegs being confiscated by airport security and it then absolutely belting down with rain. That aside, not as good as the previous Mera Luna and starting with Flood II is
a) wrong.
b) tempting fate.
