As it was discussed here quite recently, it seems quite a few people think it likely.Swinnow wrote:I don't think anyone actually believes the 'stuck in a contract' story anymore.
Look.at some of the recent tweets from Mr Catalyst.Yggdrasil wrote: As it was discussed here quite recently, it seems quite a few people think it likely.
Why wouldn't it be?
After all, he hasn't released a single song under the SoM moniker or his own name since 1997, and not in physical format since 1993, and it would hardly be the first time an artist has underestimated the complexities of getting out of a contract.
That song is a total earworm. I cannot get it out of my head. It’s irritating - or would be if it weren't such a good song.Todashi wrote:
(Show me is a great song. Weeks later, I'm still playing it daily from the NME show on youtube. It's a keeper)
I have seen those.Swinnow wrote:

I'm very familiar with those plans as well.Swinnow wrote: Look at the ancient plans to release Summer and a live DVD.
Quite a few artists have been unable to release materials for periods of many years as a consequence of not wanting to work with their record companies/labels, it's not that uncommon. Prince is just one example.Swinnow wrote: Ask yourself has anyone else, ever, been subject to such a draconian contract?
Perhaps. I'm not convinced, and I don't think you're not presenting any evidence to credibly refute the theory. After all, artists have been known to be both self-destructive, proud and pigheaded before (which is quite like how some would describe Herr Von).Swinnow wrote:Just a fairy story that has taken on a life of it's own.

Just remembered that, since a person's replies to other people aren't visible without logging in to twitter yourself, those of you without accounts would've missed a few bits. Including:Planet Dave wrote:very interesting for those of us who don't even know what twitter is.
although it was just throwaway comment by Chris... imagineChris Catalyst wrote:I always thought I would rather play bass for the band anyway.Glad to hear this. The current shows look ace online, (and Dylan is a natural performer) but you've served your time and are also ace. Frankly, I'd love to see you AND Dylan on stage with Ben and Mr E.

Granted, but if AE/SoM being bound to a contract isn't in fact the case, it would be easy to dispel the notion without intruding on anyone's privacy or having to consider any legal ramifications.markfiend wrote:That's probably the sort of question he can't really answer directly though innit?
Andrew wrote:We recently got a new guitar player in the band – an Australian named Dylan. He lives quite close to where I live with my girlfriend in Belgium, and the very fact that we can be in the same room together has suddenly generated a massive amount of new material.
Ben wrote:We have been writing new material and in fact, in the last six weeks we have been incredibly prolific in coming up with some really great song ideas, some of which we are playing on the tour.

They just started writing because Dylan showed up? I'll be.Ben wrote:Andrew summed it up quite well, he stood back and goes “these new songs we’ve done, is as if it’s the sensibilities of the first record, with the energy of the third record, and some of the cinematic qualities of the middle record, whilst sounding like a new band. These songs have been largely written by myself and Dylan who is a couple of decades younger than Andrew.

Agree that's it's better now, but still... listening to the Gothenburg 2019 show, and while the show is generally good, the vocals aren't exactly the strong point... there's an awful amount of yelping going on in FALAA, and elsewhere he just lets the other guys sing most of the parts, while he's snarling and grunting in the background.eastmidswhizzkid wrote: (...) he will not record if he feels his voice is sub-par. at the minute its really not. its very strong in fact, i just listened to the 2nd roundhouse from 2017 and it was terrribly weak compared to now.

It's not mine to share, unfortunately – I'm sure it'll be up there soon though.Planet Dave wrote:Gothenburg? Care to share in the Sharing section?Yggdrasil wrote:listening to the Gothenburg 2019 show
