Pennies are a bit tight at the mo' (aren't they always??) so we shall not be able to make it to this one.

Pennies are bad for me. Got made redundant a month ago (f*cking fuel crisis to thank for that one) & not working yet so I'm struggling for this now which is a real bastard as I love Manchester.

Daft question:
What is the venue for Sin City then? I was under the impression it's at Rock World but it's not. Somewhere on Sackville Street from reading the thread...
So meet up at the Salisbury is probably less than ideal. Suggestions anyone?

its at the retro bar, about 5 mins form the salisbury
the club is in the cellar... the main retro 'pub' bar itself has cheap booze, but the jukebox aint as good as the salisbury's

Slightly better news is that I've now got a new job but it still might be a bit tight! Time to work out the budget I think...

if anyone is around for the friday night, there's a club called 'midlife crisis' on, also at the retro bar. music is 80s & 90s alternative & indie, with a bit of random strangeness thrown in. its a great night and i heartily recommend it...
midlife crisis on friday: (site includes playlists)

let me know if you plan on going and we will join you there
likewise, if anyone is sticking around for the sunday let me know and i'll find something - there's a punk/ska night on (again, at the retro) that could be an option

I'll be around on Sunday morning/afternoon. My train leaves at 5, I think.

Well, that's a point. We're staying over, so technically we'll be around. I somehow don't think we'll be in a fit state to talk to anyone on Sunday morning though.

it is with great regret that i must advise you that i can't be present this weekend. the cost and time of coming to manchester rather than leeds is much more, and mr s isn't a well bunny, particularly. the train fare is £90, on its own.
*cries*

i know. but the relocation of the event has scuppered it, this time. i can't take friday or monday off, like a lot of others could, and the rush back and forth with one getting ill and one recovering isn't gonna work
