The guy I bought the tickets from @ Jumbo also works at The Cockpit. He told me his boss there was in an old Goth band and was desperately trying to reform to support The Sisters at the Leeds dates (he couldn't remember their name). Anyone shed any light (pardon the pun) on this?

FWIW, he also told me that the interest in Sisters tickts had been "phenomenal"

i spoke to danny (horrigan/mass) - the singer from salvation - after the last sisters leeds gig and he was saying he'd love to play again, but logistically it's quite tricky as some of them live at the opposite ends of the uk... it sounds feasible to me that if they were to pull it together for a gig, something of this magnitude and significance could be the thing that spurs them on

i hasten to add that i haven't actually heard anything about any support bands, but that kinda fits

what about the fan who can't buy straight away due to being skint? If it sells out (probably) they'd have to shell out even more to get a ticket from a cnut like this.

It's not really in Ebay's interests to do anything about it as they're getting a slice of the final fee. They could make it fairer by making it compulsory for all gig tickets to be listed at face value or less, and if the final sale price goes above that then so be it (or make it mandatory that a %age goes to a charity). It'll never happen though.

If the industry was properly regulated they could prevent artists/promoters selling tickets so far in advance, giving people the chance to put money aside (if people still do that?) for tickets when they eventually go on general sale, mebbe a month or two before the gig. Of course, this would prevent the artist/promoter banking the money and getting interest on it for 6 months or so, again, it'll never happen. Not to mention the way ticket agencies carry on with their multiple fees, how Seetickets can automatically add £1 'cancellation protection' onto orders is disgraceful.

I've stopped using Seetickets, Ticketmaster unless it's absolutely necessary. I'd rather use places like Jumbo/Crash or small ticket agencies like the Bristol Ticket Shop (for Bristol gigs i hasten to add). Support your local record shop, the one i used to work in closed.

It's a problem that could easily be improved by legislation - it illegal to sell football tickets on ebay or outside the grounds. Still happens of course but nowhere near on the scale that you see on ebay.

And even that isn't as shameful as bands auctioning their best seats on ticketmaster without even offering them on general sale.

Given the economic situation in, at least, Germany, there should be many people who have to put money aside to buy a ticket ...
