Fallen off watching Dr Who in the past couple of years, though the new Doctor does create some new interest. Hope the writing is good for her. Sigh... internet comments... don't even like to look at them these days, especially for news articles. Takes a special kind of person to relish s**t-ting in public and smearing said s**t all over any kind of discussion and drowning out opposing viewpoints with more s**t. Such a crass abuse of a small power. I guess because that's all some folks have these days. Makes my head hurt.

That people lash out in the amount they do about this on other forums just make me so sick of people. How is even in approximation to a real problem that a super intelligent, shape-shifting, alien in a time hopping phone booth in a, might I say so, quite silly TV-SERIES happens to have a female form for the first time since the series started in the 60's!? Heck darnit. And the fact that these people manage to get on my nerves just makes me even angrier... Gaaaaah!!! :evil:

Is the novel version of Shada worth reading?

Not a big Dr fan, but do like Douglas Adams (and presumably whoever has written the novel in the style of good ol' Duggie)

I've read Dirk Gently, which I gather was based on the Shada stuff after Adams realised it would never* see the light of day.

I've got it on my shelf but not managed to read it yet. Elements of Shada were lifted into Holistic Detective Agency, but only a small amount - typical Douglas Adams, he goes amusingly off-piste quickly! :lol:

Just watched the the Shada ‘re-animation’.

I liked it.

I’m a Douglas Adams fan and the Tom Baker era was my era of Doctor Who (watched from behind the settee- the Mona Lisa still makes me think of one eyed spaghetti monsters). Nice bit of nostalgia... Cheers.
