I recommand Les Furieux, a really cool bar, with good music and some Absinthe too.

Putain - I think you can...
Regarding Absinth/Pastis (thanks
) - When I'm in France, it's Pastis/Ricard, I'll drink Absinth only in the Val de Travers (CH)
, where it's from originally ..... And in Athens I hope I'll get some Ouzo....

yup, sometimes it helps to switch to your mother language
though sometimes it is good fun to take over a foreign language - see for instance Francis` "Ich will.." thread

Let's go to the bar called Les Furieux, it is a 5 minutes walk from my house in the Bastille quarter

And for those who plan to arrive very early, you can always visit the Star Wars exhibition at the Cité des sciences, which is just 2 minutes away from the Zénith. I hear it's nice but pretty expensive. And there's no "Kill Jar Jar" event.

Just to give you an idea, Kraftwerk played there a couple years back. A nice exhibition centre.

Les Furieux looks tempting
(and I stuck the attendants - as far as I got it, in the top post as well
)

BTW this thread has by far the most replies of all the 2006 tour threads.
I bet expectations are pretty high for the Sisters first ever gig this side of the Channel. Mind you, when I started listening to that lil' band not playing France was like the 11th commandment.
"Thou shalt never ever play for them froggies !"
They better not screw up !
And one last thing : what's the biggest venue they play this year ? Le Zénith can accomodate about 6.000 dudes.

Lé Zenith is by far the biggest venue.. the venue in Rome is (to my knowledge) the second biggest: 3.500

Alright, that's +2 for you
And I'm quite sure Paris will be the greatest of 'em all, it's the most historical already

Has anybody been recently to Porte de Clignancourt's flea market ? It used to be a great place for bootlegs and stuff (like stolen radios).
I haven't been there for ages.

being a sisters maniac for a very long long time now you just come to a point where you do not have any expections whatsoever

Nein mein Herr, I said I was from Strasbourg ! I only said I was glad to offer as much (or as little, depending on your point of view) help as I could.
You're most welcome to my hometown, but I have very little hope of a Sisters gig here. The closest they come is Luxembourg and Stuttgart.

Hey all,
Les furieux sound good to me too.Hope to see you there after the show.
more questions about this trip:
Is there another bars opened very late in the night around the venue?
I've read in some chat that le zenith is not so good as I can imagine. What's your opinion? (je m'adresse en particulier aux Parisiens, La capitale étant très "éloignée" pour le brestois que je suis).
Many thanks and see you there

From my humble experience, Le Zénith seems to me on the contrary a very nice place.
I was there only once, in 99 for a Placebo gig. The sound was great.
As a footnote : there are other "Zéniths" in France. They just duplicated the general architecture, only smaller. Some of them suck, especially the one in Nancy. I saw yet another Placebo gig there, 2 or 3 years after the Paris show.
The performance itself was terrible, and the venue is all concrete, which makes for awful sound.

Hello, good news !!! There were will be an after-party dedicated to the Sisters after their show in Paris in a nice club called Les Caves Saint-Sabin in the 11th quarter (quite close to the Furieux Bar too !). Isn't life wonderful ?
