I only have Diamonds are Forever, which I picked up in a bargain bin (for shame!) with no outer sleeve (for shame! for shame!) positively ages ago.

Quite like it, but is it representative of the rest of their stuff?

i'd say so, yes. before that their sound was a little more raw (girlsoul for example is early sisters-ish and even has an echo-renched '83 incarnation of the dok doing the drums). their later stuff wass a bit more poppy, with a real drummer. the vocal style and themes were pretty much constant throughout though, so you either love them or hate them for it... 8)

Sounds good, I'll look out for a copy of Sass, and girlsoul as well, thanks

a remastered version of the track girlsoul is tagged on to the end of 'the complete collection' - and pretty darn beefy it sounds too (remastered at the human league studios in sheffield, IIRC) :von:

sass is a bit hit & miss to b ehonest. there's some great pop songs on it, of which debris is my fave, but there's also a few on it that don't quite pack the same punch :|

So we're missing Ghost Dance, Rose Of Avalanche, Skeletal Family and Rosetta Stone. Still.. next gig, eh? ;)

I only have a Salvation bootleg tape.. has Clash Of Dreams, Girlsoul (maybe) and a gig or two. :?

Screaming Banshee Aircrew.. they actually sound alright on first listen. Might have to give them a go.

Weebs Strikes Again! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

But I have to question your claim 'more fun than a bag of mickeys'. Maybe I'm less qualified to say, but I'd imagine if you put mh and jansenclone (and any other michaels for that matter) in a big bag, the amusement would be limitless. How can that compare to a load of well-iffy bands and 25 Men?

;D

What kind of animal do you think I am? I'd more than content myself with rolling you down a really big steep hill. ;D And you'd love it too, you knows it. Might even jump on top and try to surf you down the slope. 8)

Screaming Banshee Aircrew you say?

Well, I got into trouble with them last time I mentioned them on here. What the f*ck, I ought to give them the chance to change my mind, eh?

The Rose of Avalanche were asked by the m*****n's management to reform for their farewell gigs. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your tastes!) only two were up for it, so I don't think we will be seeing Phil's lovely gold shirts on display again...

PM incoming. ;) :notworthy:

And digging the tape out, it has:

(Clash Of Dreams)
1. The October Hour
2. Jessica's Crime
3. Burning On
4. Sea Of Dreams
5. Figurehead
6. No Return
(1985 Demos)
7. The Shining
8. Shattered Sky
9. Lady Faith
10. Jessica's Crime
(Leeds Ritzy - 12/05/1985)
11. The October Hour
12. Angel Rain
13. The Answer
14. Spirit In The Sky
15. Burning On

Might try and get them onto my laptop. I'm taking the tape to Leeds anyway. ;)

They won't really sound like that at Leeds, different line up, different songs. They'll possibly do The Answer though.

Just giving Diamonds are Forever that spin now. Well, I've actually listened to it 3 times so far today.

Pretty good, some great songs, some that don't really do it for me, but overall pretty good. I'd forgotten about that Tom Petty cover...

March Violets have put a new track for download on their myspace page.

Sounds pretty awesome to me, it'll be great to hear some more new stuff in December ;)
