For all his allusions to hiding literary references in his lyrics, he blatantly stole the intro for Emma from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar - "If you have tears, prepare to shed them now."Being645 wrote:25 YEARS ago The Sisters played their perfectly recorded gig at Paradiso Amsterdam ...

It is funny, though, that nothing much is known about the
three former gigs in NL during that tour in Groningen,
Effenaar and Rotterdam ...
Oh, and many years later The Sisters played the in living room of lucky Reptile House member S. Reitz in Oberhausen and perfomed Comfortably Numb for the very first time ...
I know loads bang on about '85 but, with nearly 30 years hindsight, I think TJ leaving had more impact - there was no glorious commercial comeback just whatever this is now.Mothra wrote:The Winterthur show is where we say thanks and farewell to Tony James. A full-time bassist has not been seen since
When I wrote that it was his last show, I did think something similar. Not replacing a departing bass player suggest to me that a band is winding down. It's just taken 27 years so far...czuczu wrote:I know loads bang on about '85 but, with nearly 30 years hindsight, I think TJ leaving had more impact - there was no glorious commercial comeback just whatever this is now.Mothra wrote:The Winterthur show is where we say thanks and farewell to Tony James. Oh hell, how did I miss this entry ...Mothra wrote: The Munster show is a bit of curio ... an encore without Eldritch, no complete version from the same source in circulation (from what I could work out).

Yeah, starting with MORE, has become quite a habit. And last year in particular, the set listMothra wrote: Moving on to today (2nd September), we have three gigs falling on this date:
Glasgow 2000 https://sisterswiki.org/Sat,_02-Sep-2000
Crammerock 2011 https://sisterswiki.org/Fri,_02-Sep-2011
London 2017 https://sisterswiki.org/Sat,_02-Sep-2017
I was at the last of those, and very good it was to, although for the first time, I felt that the degree of predictability was taking a slight toll on me. I also remembering wondering why they never start a set with Dominion, as it has been a midway through the set song at every show I've seen them play. And every time, the atmosphere goes up noticeably when the opening notes start up. Would love to see the band come on and go straight into it.
How have i not seen that page before?Being645 wrote:

consolidated into a stable, but fully working, scheme with some surprises here and there.
