Yes, it can. They've ironed out the glitch.
On reflection, my comment might sound like McFIFA sorted the glitch. They didn't and it still exists. It was some of the boys and girls over in Nigel-land who set up Test Teams and went through every conceivable scenario until they came up with the workaround. :notworthy:

Changing formation during a live round:

Thinking logically:

1. Click on Your Pitch
2. Click on Formation change

It sorta works, but it automatically takes out the right sided player from the position you are reducing. Change from a 3-4-3 to a 4-4-2 and the right sided forward is removed.

Which is how some Nigels lost Neymar(c) 28pts in R1. :urff:

Have a playaround on Your Pitch before the deadline and you'll see what I mean.

Thinking illogically:

1. Click on Your Pitch.
2. Sub the likes-for-likes (mid for mid etc.)
3. Click on the player(s) to remove*
4. Take a deep breath
5. Click on Formation change
6. An open slot(s) will appear where requested.
7. Sub in players

* Note: If making more than one positional change, i.e., switching from a 4-4-2 to a 5-4-1, you MUST click on ALL the players to be removed at the same time, BEFORE changing formation. Otherwise you'll get a hybrid of the logical/illogical.

Again, before deadline, Your Pitch is the place to practise to understand.

Hmm... what other tips can I give you guys?

1. Once you've finalised your squad, write their names down on a piece of paper against the date they play. It's not very high-tech but it works, as it helps to clarify that day's events. If you want high-tech Nigel you'll be listing them in order of kick off as you can sub/change formation between games.

2. Play your starting guys first to maximise points potential, i.e., BRA, CHI, COL and URU. It's Ok to have Messi on your bench as he doesn't play for another 3 days and you'll bring him in then.

I think that's it. If I think of anything else I'll let yous know.

Thank you. You're more than welcome. Any other questions, from anyone, just fire away.

Strangely enough, my parents were always making plans for me.

right, that's sorted. a far more scientific method involving points so far, cost, and who's playing when has been adopted. i have a lot of iranian players :D
looking good. if i don't double my points score in tomorrow's game, someone will be bitten. :D

Always remembering of course, with the exception of midfield, Algerians are similarly priced.

And still in the tournament.

oh, i have some of those too :D - my iranians are very much filling up the bench. the algerians play later, so if the current lot get crocked in their games, they're on.

Right, finished my tinkering early and finalised my squad around noon. :)

Hanging around in Nigel-land at the moment and getting those last minute "Ooh! Didn't think of him!" jitters, but I'm gonna stick.

My squad has been constructed using all the tools at my disposal: research, statistics and, um... gut feeling.

Good luck all! :D

I wish I'd read the rules more closely. I've been scratching my head wondering how Johnny has managed to get so many points. Finally I've worked out that I've not been playing the system to its maximum.

Probably too late now......

It's a whole new dynamic to FPL and its 'marathon not a sprint' ethos. These tournie comps are a sprint. You need to get out of the blocks quickly because as the tournie progresses, and teams get eliminated, we'll all end up with the same team by the final, thereby negating any chance to claw back points.

It's never too late. Adopt the basic strategies I outlined previously. Make your judgement calls and see where you go.

50pts between 1st and 3rd is nothing at this stage. One differential alice band call, a couple of differential calls here and there, and BOOM! you're right back in the mix.

Here endeth the pep-talk.

Germany better win tonight.
I could do with the points

Seriously struggling this round.

The alice band has gone from Neymar--->RVP--->Duarte--->Valbuena.

Now I have to decide between Merts or Slimani. 1-0? or 3-2?

Decisions, decisions. :?

Me too. Having a terrible round. A Kroos double would do nicely but my Algerians did brilliantly in the first three rounds.
Strange who Fantasy Football can encourage you to support.

Indeed it is.
Goetze has the alice band tonight.
Hope he comes through. Been stuck at 9th for what seems like forever.

Bless you both!

And welcome to the kingdom of addiction. 8)

With Hummels out, and ALG feeling like 1982, I've gone GER 3 - 2 ALG.

Slimani (c). :)

Team sheets are out +60mins before each kick off. :?

So a Nigel never makes his moves until then. Do I sound weird? In an anorakie type way?

I'm more than happy to post team sheets as and when they happen if that helps yous?

PS: Hummels was ruled out yesterday evening. Fever (aka Man Flu).
