thanks for asking. I gather he's on the mend, and is doing much better (relatively speaking - it's a slow process)

Blimey.
I bet he's the sort of bloke that goes red in the face and shouts at his own fist.
Shooting people for "generally being outrageous".

Scandalous. This money should be given to the healthcare and frontline workers instead.

doesn't look like it was a vote. it's a budget offer.

there is an app called CommonsVotes that will give you breakdowns on who and what for, vote by vote

It's not as bad as it sounds. It's money for their staff to work at home; laptops, office chairs, headsets, all these things need paying for. However it's true that some MPs (*cough*JeremyCorbyn*cough*) have donated their extra 10K to the NHS.

I think what rankles though is that the advice was "If you can work from home, you should."
If these people can't work from home then why are they given a bunch of cash to enable them to? Pretty sure there are plenty of people who could work from home if they had the gear. They're not getting a handout as far as I know.

If MP's have been able to redirect this "grant" away from it's intended usage so easily it just again demonstrates the lack of control over the parliamentary expenses system, I wish my expenses were as badly administered. OK, any demonstration of support for the NHS is obviously well intentioned but it merely highlights a much greater wrong in our system.

MY brother says it looks like when a pet has an operation & that I should wear a cone of shame when I go to the shops on Tuesday.

She must be one of the folks who wouldn't go and see The Madness of George III because she hadn't seen the first two installments.

(Edit to add - oh, I see other people made similar jokes in the thread. My bad. But still...)

F-u-c-k my life.
