EURO 2008

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Russia, rocket of the century? I am so impressed that I don't know what to write.

It just feels comforting to be a Swede right now. Russia humiliated us, but the show went on.

Go Russia!

Russia deserve this, nice team playing, style of defending was completely rubbish, squashing everyone who were in penalty area it isn't a good style, but i was effective.
where were Holland defenders, where were Holland team. i believed until goal # 3.
the answer is: against who Germany will play in final ?

Awww bless you dear Chairman...we will still listen to you though!
It just isn't our year but our spirit was there and that was a good thing for our country!

Your enthusiasm for our Dutch team has been highly appreciated sir!

Simply..........The Russian team played much better then our team.

It is sad for us, but it was a fair game and the best has won.

After the game Coach "San" Marco and our "Guardian Angel" van de Sar admitted that the Russian where much better.
http://www.elsevier.nl/nieuws/laatste_2 ... nr/211529/

Just like that and they wished our "enfant terrible" Guus Hidink the best luck in this tournement.

So still ONE dutch in this amazing EK2008

Maybe the next time our Dutch team will preform on the high level as the first 3 games and ..... waiting until the next one arrives ...... World Championship in South Africa 2010 ... lets see if the lion is not sleeping then, but hunting for victory.

Will be gunning for Spain tonight. Was very surprised at how well the Russians played - didn't know they had it in them and if they go on to win then :notworthy: But really, would be great to see Turkey in the final

Every team always seems to have one game that they perform less on a tournament. Holland had theirs yesterday except for one of the best goalie's in this tournament; Edwin van der Sar.
Thank you to the team anyway. You showed the world some great soccer. :notworthy: :notworthy:

A very well deserved win by a great team with a superb Arsjavin. :notworthy:
Going for Guus now. :D

@ people wondering where the Dutch are; everywhere... 8)
@ Marco: You seem to forget that because of my country beating Romania your country is still in this tournament. :|

I wrote this on another board:
sziamiau wrote:okay I was not here yesterday but I watched the match. there is no f**king way that these 18 years old kids beat the netherlands like this. complete turnaround, they were not playing at all. I screamed my head off cause they didn't even bother going after the russians when they were jumpstarting. van nistelroy only got the ball like twice. there is something behind this s**t. you can't just f**king play this bad. notice before the end, they played a bit harder and scored. then they let off again. f**k this s**t. if russia or turkey wins the cup I ain't watching this crap again. nothing againts the countries but they are just not as good. like greece wasn't good either. twice in a roll I can't take it.
then I said this:
sziamiau wrote:that's exactly my issue. the headless chicken syndrome. they did play well, but the goalkeeper could not have handled anthing from close-up and they didn't even bother going close. oh well

they sold it for oil damn it!!! it's always the oil:)

Yeh the best team won, thank God. The Italians were negative and dull. Some great saves from y'man :notworthy:

Apparently, Casillas means 'toilet' in the Philippines and when a game is as dull as this one was then that's funny.
