i'm giving it my first listen right now.

Waiting for an estate agent to ring back with a yes or counter offer on a house. Looking at speaker drive units to build a new pair of speakers.

Yeah, but you don't get the option to make it "wheels up" or "wheels down" with the Ikea Lack tables. A dreadful oversight by their product management team, I feel.

6 weeks ago my neighbour decided that it would be a wicked wheeze to flood my bathroom by using a plumber who had no business being anywhere near a pipe wrench. The muppet-tastic flange-faced fud replaced her toilet, and in doing so closed off a connection with black pipe, not galvanised steel (black pipe is fine for drains and steam but not so good for pressurised water connections. Because it rusts. And eventually disintegrates. Resulting in ~100 gallons a minute pouring out of the pipe (which is in the wall) and through my bathroom ceiling, out of the door, and into the living room).
My insurers have been fab - got me a cheque within 3 days so I could start replacing stuff. The building's insurer (they're responsible for replacing the plasterboard, so not much can be done until that happens) have been fucking useless - arguing about who's going to pay for it, and what they're willing to pay for under the terms of the proprietary lease. "Oh, the plasterboard isn't original - you had it replaced when you renovated 10 years ago, so we're not going to pay for it".
Fortunately my insurance guy is well-ard and told them in no uncertain terms what would happen to their testicles in the event that they didn't abide by the terms of the lease. It involved a nailgun and a piece of 2x4, and sounded ouchie.
Last week on Monday they came to start the work. They finished on Thursday (for a bathroom that is maybe 5'x 7'). So this last weekend I have:
- cut holes in the ceiling for the lights
- wired up the lights without plunging the eastern seaboard into darkness
- installed the lights (dimmable LEDs that use almost no energy but are brighter than a thousand suns)
- hung the medicine cabinet
- installed a towel rail (twice, since the first time I neglected to check whether the door would hit it)
- put up a new loo-roll holder
- repainted the door
- mounted hooks on back of said door
- ordered new door handles

Now have a fabulous bright white and shiny ultra-modern minimalist bathroom. Still have to do a couple of metres of tiling (going to a workshop on Saturday to learn how), but it's mostly all done now. In a month or so I'll move everything into storage so that they can come and replace the hardwood floors.

tl; dr - arsehole neighbour, bathroom flooded, all better now.

Wrestling wisteria out of a holly tree.

When I went to get changed, I thought I'd broken out in a rash, but it was just lots of little holes where the holly had spiked me.

No really . . . i've spend a large part of today cross stitching Andrew heads and now i have YCBTO on loop going round my head.
