Can't take credit for writing any of that (only occasionally thinking it) (loudly). I believe did experience a moment of synchronicity over "They don't like Shriekback, so the hell with them".

However, I was referring to a much larger demographic. Unfortunately. :?
There's many Shrieklovers on here though ;D

Von said "You can't pick your disciples, and one way or the other you always end up with a bunch of nutters. They represent a certain section of our audience. And they are welcomed to buy tickets and come, I just hope they don't stop anyone else from coming."
"

I like being a nutter!

(I'm new, don't make me even worse than roadkill)

Anyways, I think he's talking about the D*****'s fanbase :P

Like the man QB says :
Over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the people that inhabit this place haven't spoken to another human being for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it.

the fact that they attracted a large goth following shouldn't mean they are labeled as such: NMA audiences in the 80's were heavily goth populated and they have never been seen as such. .
Would this be the same NMA that appeared on the BATCAVE compilation?

"... they are welcomed to buy tickets and come, I just hope they don't stop anyone else from coming."

I just returned from the Seattle show. That quote is going haunt him (if he ever recalls saying it). The goth presence was the *better* (qualitatively, quantitatively) (is that a word?) part of the crowd :?

I would like to state at this juncture that, whilst I have been living here for the past not-quite-eight years, I now decline to be "from" here. I'm from San Francisco (7 years), I'll even admit to being from LA (15 years). But never, never "from" Seattle.

Is there an appropriate venue here for ranting about fuckwit (Von's term - and I concur wholly) audiences who totally disrespect the person they claim to "love" so much? Hindsite: I should have gone to Vancouver. Or Portland. Bloody hell, I should have gone to Vancouver AND Portland...

<sigh> :( I'll get over it, I'm sure...eventually...but I seriously doubt that this city will ever be on any potential Sisters itinerary again.

*hugs7anthea7* you'll be fine ; he said "hope" wich is still considered a light term.

As for the fans showing respect ... well ... I guess it's a personnal statement or way of being. I was a goth 3-5 years back and now I consider myself as a "Part Time Happy Goth" since I wear some clothes some times and I just like the fashion ... and listen to childhood cartoon's soundtrack music - yeah a real goth  shaking it to "Bumbo" (the little magic car)

And regular ppl just don't know The Sisters of Mercy ... or the bigger part of the regular ppl (which is sad because they are missing one heck of a good beat)

I just realized Andrew never use some crappy style of lyrics as "oh yeah baby" pattern - and modern regular ppl need that crap in their songs... so they miss the good stuff. One cannot give culture if the mass is not interrested, saddly.
