Question: Is their new album as good as all the reviews??
If so, I'll get it today.

There's a rather mysterious message on the official site where the message board used to be. :?

I just bought the single "Hosanna From The Basements Of Hell" on 7" vinyl, even though all I've heard otherwise is Love Like Blood.

Brilliant song.

If the single is any indication the album is going to be a classic.

Just got the album (was highly disciplined and didn't download it first!!!)

And bloody hell it's good. A lot less "metal" than KJ03, yet heavier. If you're looking for an album to compare it to; I guess "Extremities" is the by far the closest.

And that's no bad thing now, is it?

Certainly some of Geordies guitars bring that album very much to mind... "Majestic" is a close cousin of "Intravenous"; and both "Judas Goat" and "Gratitude" could easily have fitted on that album.

And "Invocation" is one of the most classical things they've done since "Outside the Gate" (an album I'm not afraid to admit liking!) with the added oomph of Communion.

Bloody fantastic. I know they're all a bunch of loonies, but bless 'em!

Which makes a bit more sense now that I've listened to the album.
A fine work indeed. :notworthy:

"I harbour thoughts of killing you..."
"....I'm not a murderer, yet"

Does anyone know if there are any reviews of the tour anywhere yet? Set lists etc??

And who the hell is playing bass? (I did see one photo on myspace of the new bassist, a new-rock wearing Raven lookalike - so it certainly was not Youth!)

And if there's a new Joke message board anywhere after the offical one closed, and the new Communion one???

I NEED MY JOKE NEWS!!!

I was going to ask that. No, I don't have Youth down as a New Rock wearer.

There's some info about what's going on with the Joke here:

http://killing-joke.com/new_message/ind ... howforum=1

It's a shame Raven isn't playing on this tour after the band have fallen out once more, but anyway, i'll be rocking up to Koko on the 4th for some post-Sisters@Astoria KJ mayhem :D

EDIT: Just stumbled across this new KJ message board ~ Nottingham got rave reviews, but apparently Geordie was too pissed to play properly in Glasgow! The new bassist is apparently "Brother Kneil" from the band "Brother Orchid" & had to learn the songs in a week. They are only playing 2-3 tracks off the new album in the set.

Aren't Brother Orchid a dodgy Nightbreed band, one of Trev Ghosts bands?

Saw the show at Rock City. Thought it quite amusing how the new bassist looked alot like Raven, even down to the makeup! His gear was possibly the same as Ravens too!
Anyway they were as good as ever, the highlight for me being A great version of 'unspeakable'
Played three songs of the new album, Hossanas, Majestic and one other i cant recall right now.
The rest of the set was pretty much the same as last years. Still worth a night out though.
Have a look at the Amstrerdam show here. http://www.fabchannel.com
