Anybody any idea what month of 1985 this was released? And am I right in saying the US version didn't appear until 1987?

I seem to recall it was around the same time as Gift, cos I remember reading about both of them at roughly the same time.

I noticed the review from Smash Hits (?) but have never actually seen an advert with a confirmed date. Gift was January 1986 - so that's somewhat of a discrepency.

I watched a clip on
www.youtube.com (which sadly I cannot find) that featured Von, circa 1985, introducing a clip from
Wake, so there must have been television promos.

Yeah, I know that clip. I don't think it was actually made for
Wake as such, but by WEA to promote the band in the Americas. But since it's available it must have been aired somewhere, sometime. I don't know. I could be wrong. But it's a funny little clip. Beard and hat and all.

I think that WEA (US) promo reel gets mentioned in the Heartland books. But I presume MR sent out letters or postcards to let the faithful know as some point?

weird. Seeing Andy at an office desk in his Lemmy outfit surrounded by TV's.

The clip seems to be a little cut short, end and beginning. There used to be a tremendously dorky intro with bits of the Black Planet video and an announcer stating that the Sisters had had a good year that year. Which I guess depends on how you look at it. And the full introduction ends with the words "which was filmed in the very merry month of June". But good find nevertheless. Fun to watch.

I
believe that is from the TV showing of wake. There was a weekly show that just showed live concerts etc. I know this because the first time I saw Wake it was taped off the TV by a lady that works at my college. I can't remember if that particular clip was from it.
