One of the unforseen problems of this section for the tour, with every gig having a separate thread, is that complaint-posts are popping up on several threads, seemingly posted by different people, but all eerily similar in their content.

Having said that, nick-fiend you are indeed entitled to your opinion. Far be it from me to have a pop at a fellow fiend.

You were disappointed by the concert. Fair enough. And maybe the fact that a lot of drive-by-one-hit-post-and-disappear-people are complaining with such depressing similarity is (or should be) food for thought for ol' Uncle Andy and his cohorts. OK, he's made a point for a long time now of trying to shake the "goth" tag, but there comes a point where pissing off the audience can be taken too far.

We (or at least I) don't particularly think that this place should be an arse-licking competition around and the boys. The fact remains that there have been serious problems with the sound on this tour, particularly and specifically with the audibility of Andrew's voice.

While i've had a scan at some of the posts for the previous dates (enough to be slightly concerned at what Bristol was going to be like), I had no idea that my comments were basically a repetition of others. I will still, always, listen to Sisters records - and if (shudder the thought) the recent stuff does appear on an album. then i'll be pretty near the front of the queue to buy it.....but as for live performances - hmmm.. maybe not for a while.
Here's hoping they return to their former glory in the near future!

I want AE to keep touring, no matter how bad people think it is - playing live is a function of the band - and we have to encourage AE to keep busy - thereby increasing the chances of a great gig, a tour next year or even an album.

Posts here that just insult the man (and he does read this stuff) are no incentive for him to keep putting himself through the live circuit wringer for his benefit and our entertainment.

AE has a relatively high profile at the moment - and I think we should support him as an artist - that's not to say we should not criticise that which requires criticism, but we all, to a degree dig the The Sisters Of Mercy as a deeply cool and groovesome CONCEPT - and The Creator of the backdrop to your teenage years is the bloke in shades throwing shapes on the raised platform in front of you.

In this instance it's not too difficult to find some small (or continental) sized reason for gratitude.

Sorry, but the show I saw last week was extremely old fashioned. It was as though the past 20 years hadnt happened from a visual point of view. It also sounded like the Major from Faulty Towers was in charge of the sound. I've seen far more professional gigs at small venues from bands with a fraction of the fan base and supposed accumulated experience.

Sure the faithful will come to the defence, thats only to be expected but surely some of you must have had doubts at what you saw and heard. Did it really look gleaming sleek and groovy?

I didnt go with an axe to grind, sure I was a tad worried they might have come and said "ok this is a special night we've decided to do all the material from SGWBM!" In which case I'd have left even quicker as drum machines sounding like popped crisp packets don't work for me. I was looking forward to a good dose of anthem and cult classics and a good chunk of Vision Thing maybe with a sprinkling of 'properly introduced' new numbers. But no, what we got was a shambles of mumbles and yodels.

I would love to see how they edit together a video momento of this tour from the mixing desk video camera. Dont bother doing a HD transfer guys!

I think this is the difference between someone who hasn't seen the Sisters that much (or recently) and someone who has. I knew more or less what to expect, as i'm sure did the dozen or so other people there that I knew, but we damn well made sure we had fun.
Trust me this was a good show. Most of the people I saw were smiling when they left. Plus i think i heard plenty of anthems and plenty of Vision Thing (bar 3 tracks). Since when has Von really introduced a song and said "..well this song is about blah blah"?
As Matt North said the two boys on guitar done well and Von did well to. A great way to end the tour for me anyway.
