The vocals are always performed live (although I guess there maybe the occasional exception).

The best part of the show is Terry Wogan's comments. I seem to remember one year the BBC wouldn't let him commentate (saying his mocking was inappropriate) and got someone else to do it. The ratings were really bad and they were deluged with complaints so he's been there ever since.

I'm going to add my support to the Finland song, realyl want to see that getting played in the final.. even if my love of things Finnish is somewhat waning these days...

Eurovision seems to be one of those things that Europeans are perversely happy with, if only for the pain it inflicts on them. But, at least it's an entirely European form of pain!
