Possibly the wrongest thing ever

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Cradle is very good, IMO, but this was a huge mistake from Dani and Co.

That Crematory had good instrumentation, though the vocals let it down.

Aye. Shame that they weren't actually playing Temple of Love, wasn't it?

I'm sorry, but when you change the chord progression, it ceases to be a cover :von:

Between the vocalist and the other puffy goff the cover should be renamed "Temple of Pastries".

With the powdered sugar from the donuts falling off the shelf
With a crispy creme for a lover and a shot of jelly for the pain at hand
You run for cover in the temple of pastries
You run for another but it tastes the same
For the calories will blow my lard across this land

It doesn't rhyme but you get the jest....

anyone heard the Foetus cover of this one? i like JGT (lots) and Jen Charles has a sultry voice...

Thank You! - A Tribute To Sisters Of Mercy
CD 2003 EFA/Zoomshot/Angelwings 61690-2 DE

Notes:
Contains a Foetus cover of the Sisters Of Mercy track "First And Last And Always". Jennifer Charles (Elysian Fields) provided guest vocals but criminally goes uncredited on the release.

Ah, I've heard that--given the combo of Ms. Charles and JGT, it certainly isn't what I'd hoped. I expect better from both of them, especially when they work together. It's better than most Sisters covers, for all the usual reasons, but he really didn't put much work into it.

jesus, and i made a joke yesterday about bagpipes... WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, EXTREMO?? It's even worse than that Cradle Of Filth blasphemy!!!

I'd rather choose Gary Cherone from EXTREME doing Somewhere Fast

Jesus... i hate anything done by idiots in quasi-industrial cloathing and semi-futuristic bag pipes

OK, in the category "worst cover possible":

Michael Bolton - Alice
Phil Collins - Under The Gun
Whitesnake - When You Don't See Me
Housemartins - Vision Thing
The Kelly Family - Something Fast

No Time to Cry could be a great cover, but the vocals, whatever they are, are horrific. I actually do like the guitars and speed, but the song is not very easy to listen.

Anyone remember the cover of "Walk Away" by Paradise Lost?

I doubt Von is pleased with the song being associated with all the cheesy gothic imagery in the music video… why the hell did he let those s**t cover his song?

He CAN'T Stop them indeed, cover versions are always legal, just as long as you pay the rights.

But, i wonder: why isn't Yesterday or Paint It Black in a trance-version every summer in the charts... or are Stones and Beatles in a special position?
