I'm a big fan - only really discovered them over the last couple of years. There is some s**t in there but there are some absolute gems too. :notworthy:

As previously mentioned this....

Love Hawkwind.Possibly the most important alternative band ever.Getting on for 40 years and they still havn't sold out yet they still sell out gigs.
Admittedly at least 50% of their recorded material is a bit cak but the other half is f**king brilliant. One of the best gigs I ever saw was on the "Chronicle of the black sword" tour in 1985.
My Fave tracks include;
Master of the universe
Brainstorm
Hassan I sabbha
Right to decide
Levitation
Spirit of the age
Assault and battery/golden void
Motorhead
Psychadelic warlords
Orgone accumulator
Urban guerrila
Children of the sun
Shouldn't do that
Magnu

etc etc

Hawkwind IMO have just ploughed their own furrow. Dave Brock pilots the beast and good and bad members come and go.
I think everyone who likes v'Wind really oughta read this:
Image
at least two thirds of it, then it's all bollocks that you've read before about how Brock is a cnut and Nik Turner is too.
Funnily enough Lemmy rises above the filth! Image

and I enjoyed it more than this:

Let's talk Hawkwind DVDs?

I was down the local HMV, and saw that they had quite a selection. Are there any that would be recommended, or should I run and hide from them all?

I'm going to be renting some Orkweend DVDs from FletNix in the near future - I can give you a review in a couple of weeks, if that's any good to ye?

I’ve only heard Silver Machine and seen footage of a big bosomed woman running around between the crowd and stage… and I figured that none of the other songs would sound like Silver Machine, so I just turned to Motorhead.
