Kudos to your avatar of the delectable Poison Ivy, radiojamaica.
As for the Neffs: I try to get more infos on the cancellation from my friend from SPV.

The ever lovely Libby posted that pic in the Bauhaus thread and I just had to have it. So a big thankee to her too!
And do keep us posted if you find out something rotten about the Neph's cancellation...

NFD are suprisingly good for a band which sound almost entirely unorigonal. I like their new poppier, grittier take on the nephilim sound. I have No Love Lost (with live cd) a good album, favourate track is turbines.

Got me tickets for the Krefeld gig last week...was excited as hell..now this pile of s**t....GRRRRRRRR!!!!!! And yes..it probably IS good ol' Carl not being able to get a band together that can even remotely pull off Mourning Sun live. One thought that crossed my mind is that it might have been Tony agreeing to do the live shows in the same way they did in 2000 and him backing out in the end. But then...could have been anything..

I'm getting increasingly used to this. The Nephs were about to tour in '92 when they dissolved the band instead. I was going to see the Nefilim show in Stockholm in '96, but then McCoy "disappeared". I went to the Arvika festival in 2000 for the reformed FotN, but they cancelled due to the drummer having injured himself the day before. Needless to say, I hadn't really got my hopes up too much this time.

Considering most of Mourning Sun was samples and keyboards, what does he actually need a band for? Not having a band never stopped Eldritch..
Maybe McC is working on the video he was talking about. That was meant to be on the special edition of the album. But wasn't. Then was scrapped altogether. Then another song was chosen for the video. Then....

my guess is that it's not so much McCoy being an ultra perfectionist (at least in this instance); if that were the case , I reckon that the cancellation of the tour would have happened a lot closer to the time of the gigs.
More likely, some critical aspect of the band either is just not good enough, or there have been "personality differences" - and with just two months or so to go, maybe it's a bit short notice to get someone in to do the songs justice.
Pettitt, Wright, Yates and Wright not withstanding of course!

I read it as "Carl's laptop has crashed"
Looks like i'm going to both Slayer shows at Brixton then.........
Still, gutted aboot the Nephs ~ very glad i didn't buy Italy tickets as well though...

Perhaps Carl should be commended for is ability to craft statements
to his fans that tell them precisely nothing at all about the reasons
for a tour being cancelled.
In fact I think that's almost as good as Andrews Legendry explanation
for not releasing "summer" and a chain of independent records:
"What with one thing and another, it wasn't to be." Magic.

f**k, f**k again, and f**k some more !
I'm back on HL after a two week break and
this is what I find. Gutted.
Now in all seriousness I can't really say I missed you boys and girls very much since I had such a great time, but still it's nice to be back home.

If you get a smoke machine and some nice lights, they'll invite themselves...

That could work. The ceiling's very high in my flat (about 3m20).

Same here. I could get them to change the lightbulb while they're up there.
(Cue the "how many Goths does it take to change a lightbulb" joke...)
