how did you know about them?
which country are you from?
you know, it is widely spread now among kewl new wave fans and goffs to p*ss off Kino
they say Kino is a horrible clone of The Cure/The Smiths/The Sisters Of Mercy/Talking Heads/etc.
do you think so?
well, sometimes they dressed up in the Western style

An old mate from college worked as a teacher in moscow for a year, about 10 yrs ago, and brought back some tapes and cd's, his boss had even been good friends with the band (she moved to moscow from liverpool in the early 1980's).ormfdmrush wrote:wow!Big Si wrote:Indeed we do!ormfdmrush wrote:do you like Kino?

Welcome, Moscow!
And thanks to Lachert - back in 92 I had this one myself http://lachert.webpark.pl/skarby/some_2_takt.jpg but quite soon I got the original cassette and gave it to a friend.
About Kino - I like them very much. Clones? Not Sisters clones, don't think so. Cure, Smiths? It's far closer to the truth possibly - there are influences, I think, but look at me - I have never loved neither The Smiths (or maybe only a couple of their songs only) nor The Cure (the only exception is "17 seconds" - their only album I love) but I like Kino very much

Always happens on here.ormfdmrush wrote:moders, sorry for the thread becoming an offtop
In fact, I'm surprised it took so long to happen this time!
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

have anybody guessed the origin for this song?
The first one in your other post obviously comes from The Cure anyway - The Blood, I think?
Edit: just listened to the others!

the first song (in the beginning of the thread) is ~"Kyoto Song"mh wrote:The first one in your other post obviously comes from The Cure anyway - The Blood, I think?

and this one is ~"FALAA" - haven't you recognized it?
Ah, knew it was off the Head on the Door anyway. The one that goes "a nightmare of you, of death in the pool", although it takes off the chorus more.ormfdmrush wrote:the first song (in the beginning of the thread) is ~"Kyoto Song"mh wrote:The first one in your other post obviously comes from The Cure anyway - The Blood, I think?

Of COURSE I recognised the second - you are talking to Mister FALAA here, you know!
I was gonna add in "Zavtra mozhet byt pozdno, mine mine mine mine mine"

i should mention that both of these songs are actually good ones, but with some lacks
~"Kyoto Song" sounds nice, even more vivid than original; i like both versions - but there are stupid lyrics and vocals in Alisa version
great lyrics in ~"FALAA", but they were so lazy to copy Sisters' riffs, so the result is only funny

Trust me, every thread here eventually goes off topic. If we banned people who went off topic, there wouldn't be anyone here but Quiff Boy.ormfdmrush wrote:just don't want to be banned (s**t happens)mh wrote:Always happens on here.ormfdmrush wrote:moders, sorry for the thread becoming an offtop
