Nah, they did that in Birmingham one year later.
Cool, that means I have both on tape somewhere. Now, if I could only find the damn things, I'd do the necessary...
You actually listen to those silver shiny things? :innocent:

Wasn't it performed by Nottingham Forest fans/players once?
A while ago though...like during the 80's......
Yup. Still got that on single.

That's where I knew it from, too ;)

The joke wasn't that awful.

The dodgy assessment of a very talented band, however...:von:

i was there as well -the best reading festival ever IMO: the sisters, iggy pop (both of whom played 1969) and nirvana to name but three- and "he's got the whole world in his hands" was a perfect example of von's sharply cynical and ironic yet totally self-deprecating sense of humour. i remember when every sisters interview used to patiently explain that (whilst being still most excellent) they were ultimately taking the p*ss out it all on an enormous level. von says beforehand "i just know you're going to hate this" and i never thought for a minute that he was talking to us, but rather to the people who didn't understand the joke. eldritch was more off his head than i've seen/heard him since (with the possible exception of one of the nec gigs) and the buzz of playing that song to an enormous festival crowd (at least 60% of whom would probably have hated the sisters anyway -"too miserable...to slow...too boring...silly deep voice etc") whilst bombed off your fucking head must have been huge. it was fucking great. :von:
