Seasons in the Abyss is where I exited too.
Strange that most of that wave of American thrash released crap albums around then:
Anthrax - Persistence of Time
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Metallica were resting after the horror that was ... and Justice (actually not a bad album IMO, the production and Large Oilrig's biscuit tin drums let it down and any song called One is WANK!. Seems Bongo and the Hedge weren't listening) :|

Sorry for thread necro but as a present yesterday I got the sister volume to 1001 albums which is imaginatively entitled 1001 songs you must hear before you die and not only does This Corrosion feature in the main list with attendant write-up, but other Sisters songs (Alice, ToL and, more bizarrely, Vision Thing) feature in the 10,001 songs long leit in the back of the book. Seeing as the likes of Bauhaus and The m*****n only feature once in the longer list, this is not a bad return. I have to say the book is an excellent read and features many of my personal faves (Venus in Furs, I Wanna Be Your Dog, Dead Souls, Sabotage, I'm in Love With The German Filmstar) and some of the "stories behind the songs" were new to me.
