Grabbed two tapes, at random, from the
Blast Archive last night, blapped one on in the car today - Loveless Spooky!
Get home to find a bumper bundle from
mh with Loveless and Isn't Anything, plus other goodies. Then he informs me elsewhere that Never land really is no longer a fragment, clocking in at 11:59. Life is good.

Ride? Mmm 50/50, just never got them, and they used to release an EP (remember them?
) every coupla months.
Boo Radleys (until they went pop!) and The Pale Saints?
Chapterhouse? My sista really liked them, best tune was when they used that "When the levee breaks" Led Zep drum sample, after that they lost focus (forgot how to write choons!)
Slowdive? That wee burd always wore a Christian Death t-shirt when visited by Jehovah's witnesses, other than that, well....PISH!
Spiritualized? 1st 2 singles were alright - an Old Spacemen 3 tune and then the cover version of the Velvets "Run Run Run", never got them after that, but when his burd ran off with Richard Ashcroft he seemed to have learnt how to write choons!
Bleach? Anyone remember them? Great band, every indie kid in the UK wanted to shag Sally the lead singer
(but along came Pammy in Baywatch
)

Boo Radleys used to be called the "do badlys" they were so feeble. Nice cover version of True Faith though.

I remember that interview! Really funny. Some quite nice tunes but incredibly boring.

They'll never top The Perfect Prescription. Don't really belong in the shoegazing thing though.

Yeh, remember them too.
It's amazing the rubbish we bought, listened to, and thought was wonderful while we were waiting for Loveless, isn't it? Shouldn't really judge MBV by the imitators who got it wrong.

After the 3rd EP roundabout the debut album they sounded and looked quite dark, but they were yer average Camden Indie band before that

Their debut album was pretty good
and the aforementioned single was Pearl
However, the next single Mesmerise was a tune that not even the milkman could whistle, and their 2nd album sank without trace
Forgot to mention The Telescopes - they were fab and groovy!
