Jess would explain it better but I don't think them mentioning MR has
anything to do with any kind of Warner/MR collaboration. It's just that the original album was released on MR, that it's copyrighted 1987 and that Rhino are legally bound to mention it. No more.
may we expect a best of vol.2 aswell? or an official release with B-sides?who knows, but this re-release brings back the hope for me for new stuff in the near future...
I wouldn't get too excited if I were you. Something new might appear, but I certainly don't see it coming from Warner.

I don't know if this question has been answered already, but to my knowledge AE sold all rights (publishing and recorded) to WEA back in 1993, so no they wouldn't, as they own the whole lot.
