Help! - MSN Virus

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

The main big security holes are Outlook Express and Internet Explorer.

I'd suggest using a different email prog, I recommend Thinderbird, or if you really like OE then go into options and set it to display all emails as text only. Just previewing a html/java-laden email in the preview pane is enough to download and install an exe on your system (I've seen it happen).

For browsing I use Opera, and only use IE for a tiny handful of trusted sites which don't work properly in Opera.

I tried Thunderbird but did not like it at all... It crashed time and again, now using MS Outlook together with Firefox...

I ran Adaware on my work windows machine earlier today for the first time since January, it only picked up 5 tracking cookies and 1 reg entry. I must be doing something right :)
