INCOMING! PONCE ALERT! INCOMING!

I shall be cooking my famous Ghanaian fish stew with plantain and yams whilse wearing my funky Ghanaian clothes. And maybe some Star beer to wash it down

I ain't Ghanaian but I went there once and for some reason the food and clothes turn Mrs Rafster all gooey...not literally of course, that would be disgusting.

£97!?!

If that's what the average man spends then the average man needs to sit down & have a good chat with himself.

If I've got a bird at the time then I'll spend a fiver maybe.

No fiver spent today...

And the not-so-average bloke apparently spends GBP2150 on Valentines...

Been done before, commonly used in some cocktails (or even some ready-made liquors IIRC). It's gold leaf so you won't be getting much of it

Silly money though

Aye, I remember reading that an ounce of gold leaf covers about an acre.

Research on wiki would tend to belie that though. 1 troy ounce covering an acre would be equivalent to 1 gram covering 130 square metres. But Wiki says that a gram will only cover 1 square metre. Still, that would mean that a square millimetre of gold leaf would weigh a microgram...

  :notworthy: Is that kind of talk indicative of your chat-up technique Alister? ;D

So, anyway, from me...homemade card (with a picture of a pink tank on it), box of choccies (forever and always Mandys first love, which is more than fair enough), and as mentioned elsewhere, cooked tea of spicy thai sweetcorn soup follered by redcurrant roast lamb. Then off to cricket nets  :innocent:

For me...card (bought, pah!), bottle of Jack Daniels :D :D :D :D :P . Sorted!

Alister, pull this weekend mate, and be smug in the knowledge that you've just avoided having to shell out £9.70 or whatever.

Tried a bit of the Alister charm yesterday too... worked a treat.

As I recall from the HL Leeds Xmas Bash, the 'Alister charm' consisted (these are your words) of 'Do you like The Sisters Of Mercy?'.
