No you don't. Trust me. Babies are far more sensitive and the pain causes them to go into catatonic shock (doctors, however, generally say they're just sleeping to save parents the pain of knowing what they put their child through for purely aesthetic reasons.

Well, I thought I'd get all my points nicely summarized.

My driving instructor told me about a student of his that died because his parents where Johover's Wittness and therefore refused to allow the doctors to give him a blood transfusion when he got into a car accident.
He would have survived if he had had it.
It makes me utterly sick.
And female circumsision, the very idea of it, let alone the widespread practice of it, makes me want to PUKE.

I back you up big time here miss RJ...
Piercing is something that can be done at a later age, when the kid decides that he/she wants a piercing.
What's next, tattooing 'I love mum' on the butt after week 4?

There's a few moms at my kids' school who have pierced their babys ears, some as young as 3 months! Absolute fukwits, I suppose if their nipper pulled on the stud and ripped it's lobe they would sue the shop (probably 'Claires acsesories' or their local hairdresser) whilst shouting "They said it would be alright, it's their fault!!" and then pocket a few hundred quid.
It just re-enforces my idea that society in general is getting dumber by the year.

Not true. There are very useful nerve endings in the skin removed and the hardening of the skin on the glans due to its exposure reduces sensitivity. I'm not entirely sure which bits are removed, but the most sensitive bit of the penis is on a bit of skin just
below the glans, which may be subject to such snipping...
But still, nowhere near as 'orrible as a clitoridectomy

Aye... no, I'm not saying male circumcision has no effect on sensation, just that it's not quite the same devastating effect as what they do to girls.
Personally I think it'd be really nice if folk just wouldn't cut any bits off babies, y'know...
I find it so bizarre that people who claim to follow a god could have such contempt for the human form as "He" has created it.

Regarding female circumcision, I agree with you, but I think it's worth mentioning since no one else has that there are several types. Sorry, but I'm simplifying a little here...
1. Proper Circumcision or "Sunna". Removal of the clitoral hood only. I think this is what the Prophet Mohammed advocated, which involves the clitoris remaining intact.
2. Excision. Removal of the clitoris and other parts of the genital area.
3. Infilbulation (spelling?). As excision but also with the vaginal opening sown up.
There are some other fairly grotesque variants which I don't care to remember too well.
When I got married, my (Malaysian, ex-) wife asked me to get circumsised for "health" reasons. I flatly refused. Being ignorant at the time I asked her how she'd like being circumcised. To my surprise, she said she had already had it done, but didn't know exactly what had been removed. It seems that they just performed a "sunna", in her case hardly noticeable really. It didn't interfere with her sexual functioning at all as far as I could tell.
Not that I'm an advocate of it, I think it's also worth mentioning with regard to male circumcision that there's evidence to suggest that this can help reduce the risk of HIV transmission significantly. A lot of people just aren't realistic when it comes to condom use. In the extreme, I recall reading from several sources that, in some places in Africa, many believe that condoms contain the AIDS virus.

I can't vouch for the validity of the above but the deputy president of the ruling party here believes that
showering helps prevent the spread of AIDS. That, ladies and gentlemen, is stupidity!

Indeed, it's very depressing. These are the men who have power to do some good, to help halt the spread of HIV/AIDS in Sub-saharan Africa, and instead they're pretty much doing the equivalent of wearing a string of garlic around the neck to ward off vampires. Or carrying a pocket full of posies to keep away the Plague. Politicians should not propagate f**king superstitions, the fact is people will continue to die in unneccesary numbers as a result of their staunch ingnorance

Weird. I could have sworn I'd read something saying the exact opposite; that circumcision
increases risk of HIV transmission. Go figure.

Probably Mohammed hardly had a f*cking clue what he was talking about, as he himself was a illiterate salesman. But then, it wasn´t actually him speaking. It were the heavenly voices in his head.
(A girl I know from my neighbourhood hears them, too. She´s bound to the funnyfarm to fix some audio input issues the next couple of days, ye ken?
)
I wonder if this study you quote did take into account that the circumcisioned people may have a somewhat different lifestyle? This is the greater problem with epidemiologic investigations.
The safest Mercedes for example was, as an investigation showed in the early 90ies, the 190. While it performed worst of all Mercs in crash tests, the drivers mostly were aged people who simply drove in a safe way..
The study simply related the number of cars sold to the number of people killed in a type of car.

I ,with my hand on my heart ,Love America and with that, Americans. And it is for these simple reasons as pointed out by Mrs R.J that I love them.
The Lord, bless him, put a stretch of water between them and the real world, and for this it should be counted as one of the Great Wonders of the World.
America is indeed the goldfish bowl of the world, the freak circus that rolls into town and you stand and stare at it and shake your head in wonder and think "How could anyone possibly...?" Some one put it there for our amusement. How else can you explain a nation that voted in George W Bush TWICE!!
Putting earrings in the ears of four month olds is chicken feed in comparison to the other heinous crimes against humanity that middle America has bestowed upon the world. And it's all in the name of vanity.
From forcing their children to fulfill the parents failed dreams by parading them in 'child beauty pageants' and chastising them if they fail to live up to their expectations in 'little league sports' - It's no wonder some of them feel the urge to take up their parents guns and shoot people in schools and shopping malls . Are we to really believe, as we often told ,that this is caused by t.v ,video games and Marilyn Manson records ?
Nothing coming out of America surprises me, however shocking it may sound or appear. And in the words of Mr Eldritch when once asked if he would ever live there. His response may ring true to some of you out there.
"America? Is like Disneyland, I don't mind visiting t, but I wouldn't want to live there"
Myself personally, I would live there in a heartbeat - never a dull moment to be had by anyone.

There's a Jehova's Witness girl at my school, a friend of my friends.. she also believes being gay is a choice, changeable (because the Bible says so) and all the s**t about sins.
Can't these fuckers just have "God is love" and leave it at that for the whole religion, including all the seeming billions of denominations?

I've always thought the Jehova's to be pretty much a comedy religion anyway. Their beliefs aren't worth much and if I'm correct they have already predicted the end of the world about 6 times (and we are still here).
So if they are wrong about that (we are still here) then who's to say they are right about anything?
The bible's rants about homosexuality would also be quite comedic (as they are so wrong) if so many (stupid) people didn't believe them. I thought the original first page of the bible had been found - you know the one that starts "this book is a work of fiction, any resemblence to any persons living or dead is entirely coincedental". Or was that Red Dwarf?

I would find the joke slightly amusing, were it not for the fact that America, unlike Disney World, has a frightening amount of power in the world. And power in the hands of lunatics is a worst case scenario, often displayed in history already
