Ah, well, there I'd have to differ. I really liked what they did with Numb.

re: Comfortably Numb, i kinda likes what they did there too ~ morphing into SKOS, but always a poor choice to open a show with methinks...

I dunno, that's not such a bad version until :von: hits the end of the chorus...

I wasn't a massive fan of the original, so I can't really say it was ruined for me. But then, my Floyd tastes revolve around the Pompeii DVD, Wish You Were Here, and the strummy/acoustic stuff like Grantchester Meadows.

What? What?? :?
Comfortably Numb sounds as if it had been meant for The Sisters :!:
As a Pink Floyd song it sounds flat, lifeless, pale and cold, I can listen to it and prepare dinner without even noticing that the music's on.
I know that tastes should not be discussed, and so on, but this is one of the issues that are too important for me to remain quiet, and I will defend my point of view like a lion. :von: :P

YCBTO...

56% pro, 43% contra (with 1% lost in the mix?).

Not bad... for a Sisters song that is not great, but definately one of their funniest! When I first heard this song years ago, I had no interest... actually, when I first ever heard the Sisters in the 'More' video, I had no interest.

Things change and even a listen to YCBTO can be refreshing... especially after 15 years with no new album! :x

EDIT: As a Pink Floyd fan of all their various phases... a feel that 'Comfortably Numb' is one of their best songs and the greatest expression of the disassociative effects of drugs and the rock-n-roll lifestyle. Their thunderous live version is even more impressive. When I first heard the Sisters cover this on the 'Out In The Dark' 1992 recording, I was surprised and pleased that :von: chose to perform it. Although I will admit that it is certainly an in the mood song ... ;D
