As an opener I would go for Crash & Burn or First and Last and Always.

I have to agree with DrG - Ribbons must come as the second.

Now if only :von: would release the lyrics for Crash & Burn so I could know the text!

If Von would write a song called Crash it would be a nice combo though: Crash/Burn/Crash and Burn

I think you misunderstood me psichonaut.

I'm looking for the lyrics of the song "Crash & Burn" (not officialy released so far), not "Burn".

Thanx anyway for the effort!

frederik wrote:More
:D Following the usual instrumental version of Afterhours (a nice way to set the tone -- a nice potential B side, too), More is a good choice. Give the guitarists (and new bassist...) some attention as the gig gets underway. Then, while the energy is still rising, the usual suspect takes center stage as the vocals start up. For the same reason, FALAA is a good opener as well. Both start off with intros of their own and then build, much as a gig should

For the same reason, Snub Nose is a good opener to an encore. Too up front to start a gig, but fill of energy to restart one after a break, and similarly one to focus attention on the guitarists.

Ribbons second? Tends to work well. :D Not as an opener, though. Like with Snub Nose, why get spent too quickly?

On a related note, Logic seems to do well as the fourth song or so. In the 1999 gigs, for example, Von does not seem to get going until this song. The way it progresses in intensity shakes off any rust/jitters/fatigue of the opening tunes. From then on, the band have found the right groove, at least until they have three "new" songs back to back which much of the audience will not recognize. That is always an energy killer. :urff:

Nice one...

No doubt that FALAA is the best way to start a Sisters gig.

love it if the bass beat would thump and all we could think of was FALAA / Alice etc.

But then the strings of More should jump in.

THAT would be the killer.

I can still remember the roar of near delerium that flooded through the NEC in 1992 when those strings started up. 8) :von: :notworthy:
