But we rarely give in.
They gave us all this talk about why they do these things, promotions and toys etc to pull in the kids - all this stuff about "building brand loyalty"... *Shudder*

Evil I tell you!

It's not American and it tastes slightly better than McDonalds, but it's junk food all the same.
I have to agree it's better than McD, but still it isn't Burger King, I find. Only annoying thing about them is everything is different in each restaurant, some Giants (their BigMac) are sublime, some are pish :(

Same on this side of the border. Each restaurant is managed in a semi-autonomous way iirc, which means some of them (especially in big urban areas) are rather... questionable. :urff:
But I still like it better than McD's globalized junk.

Never liked McD but do like Quick and Burger King on occasion.
And I honestly don't know why, 'cause you pay way too much and it sure ain't that great.
But you're right, not sure what they do with chemicals and all, but suddenly there it is: that craving.....

These places sure don't make the world a better place though; in principle I'd despise them. But the body/mind is too weak....

must....

give in.....

Maybe a little conditioning may help? Order 5 of those in a row and force yourself to eat until you vomit. You won't be able to stand even the smell of a BigM for quite some time. Problem solved.

There's a guy who did just that and made it a documentary... ;)

Oh you poor deluded child!

You should be well aware, every time you eat a Whopper, that it is being made by someone who has probably just had to change the bins/clean the toilets and is shouted at to get to the "Burger Board" before being given a second to run their hands under water (never mind the 20 seconds scrubbing with sanitizer etc. which they claim to enforce - I never saw it happen once). I was the only person there who washed their hands at all... and even then, they got so filthy that I would scrub up to the elbows like I was at a mosque on my lunchbreak, so I could eat my own food without getting it all manky
Burgers were dropped on the (dirty) floor... just picked up and used anyway. VOM :urff:
I would never have eaten a burger that I made, put it that way. They really are horrible places.
You've confirmed what I always suspected ... poor you for having to work there ... I trust that you are now (or always have been) a Veggie? ... I'm proud to have been Vegan for over 20 years so have no use for such places, but apparently they do stock 'straws' which can be cut to an appropriate length for 'medicinal' purposes ...

Haven't encountered one yet myself. Do visit them when abroad (just once per trip), usually. That's more than enough really

Ah, well every restaurant has flaws I think. When you'd just watch behind the screens of any random restaurant you bump in to for a day, I think you would never want to eat there again. A sorry thing, but sadly true :|

A good point, Z. As much as the burger chains have a bad reputation for a reason, that isn;t the end of the problems in places where food is produced/sold.

You only have to watch documentaries on tv of environmental health officers doing the rounds - last one I saw had everything from a small independent sandwich shop, through the burger style and on to more up market restaurants. Where people do a job for less wages than they want you'll get attitudes slipping. Sad but, as you say, somewhat true.

Tr00 dat.

I worked at Holland's Pies as a summer job from school. I lasted three and a half days. It was one of the reasons I went vegetarian.
