Steve you git, you beat me to it! :notworthy:

@ Claire - I don't think mumbling incoherently counts as 'speaking in tongues' :innocent: ;D

Whereas I've heard loads of people speaking in Tong, Bradford.

In the pentecostal community glossolalia is refered to as 'Gift'. God speaking through other people. I personally thought this was why The Sisterood l.p. had that title.

"Gift" is German for poison. })

Not too hard to imagine :von: knowing this, and chuckling to himself as he named his latest techno album, back in 86.

Nice one E Gypsy. 8)

I'm aware of that but so what. He had already 'poisoned' Wayne & Adam's plans so I can't see what relevance that translation of the title has. Where as Eldritch expressing himself through other people - Fox, Ray, Vega, Patricia - fits my assumption that Gift is refering to 'speaking in tongues'.

Techno? No. How can you possibly called Gift a 'techno' album.

I also think it's a great album but nowhere near techno, it's not even electro. The overall sound has always reminded me of the track Mea Culpa from 'My Life In The bush of Ghosts' by Eno/Byrne. Perhaps slightly trancey in a Spiral tribe kind of way but, and I have to say again, it's not techno. Eat Static are techno but not The Sisterhood

Nah I don't go with all the sub-division labels / genres / whatever. It sure aint rock, pop, or hip-hop, so it must be techno!

Anyway, who gives a monkeys arse, it's a damn fine album. :von:
