hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
yes, i know several of the peeps involved in the making of that entire sad (looking for correct word...buggerit) thing.
you'd be rather suprised to know the bbc lied to everyone involved in the making, right down the actual film makers themselves, and they heavily re-edited both the tv piece and the web content from what appeared to be a fairly interesting and honest look at a subculture to another 'point...stare...giggle' exercise, bastards.
they actually interviewed many of the different types of goths available in newcastle over a few days, the bbc then only decided to show the vampire goths, they did do a whole section on the music, and asked mel (the man responsible for playing the smurphs the week before the m*****n at trillians) to put together a music night so they could film the goths 'having fun'. he fell ill and the project has rescued/hijacked by another goth night promoter who totally misunderstood the remit and ended up providing the bbc with an incredibly large 'killingmypanda' shaped stick to beat any remain sense out of the article with, bastard.
finally, as far as i am aware filmed many normal run of the mill type goths in a before and after thing and at the last minute the bbc decided no one looked different/stupid enough so they send thier own man in to be made to (leaked bbc memo: look like an arse) look like a goth and tagged it onto the end, bastard/bastards.
so, in closing, what have we learnt from this valuable exercise?¿? that the world is full of bastards and never trust a hippy, nor in fact the bbc.
