the Ewok - Wooky thing.
George used Ewoks because he didn't want them to have technology, but as we all know (offcource) Wookies use blasters and stuff

Alan Dean Foster has done stuff that doesn't involve movie novelisations - his Spellsinger series was flippin' brilliant (read it if you haven't), and Cat-a-lyst was great.

When watching

I meant no disrespect to Mr. Foster. He does write good stuff and I enjoyed Splinter.
I urge all of to try and find the Chinese version of Ep1 the english subs are so freaking funny you actually enjoy the movie.
